    Thanks Andrew! In the beginning, I used to apply the balm last, but it is only recently that I put it on before I splash the aftershave. The Nivea ASB doesn't interefere with the aftershave scent. I only use the ASB during the fall and into early spring. It keeps this mature gentleman's face youthful-looking

    Saturday's Shave

    1953 Gillette Super Speed (Y3)
    Gillette Platinum (1)
    Vulfix No. 28 Boar
    MWF (preshave)
    Arko Cool Shaving Cream
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Williams Aqua Velva (Spanish)

    Loading my brush with MWF before face lathering the Arko Cool cream made a nice slick lather. The puck of MWF did break up as I was loading the stiff Vulfix brush, so I ended up mashing it all together in the middle of the dish after the shave. I don't see too many shaves left with the Fat...

    3 passes with the Super Speed gave me a comfortable and easy shave with no irritation or mishaps this morning.

    It may be that MCS sold them to Shave Mercantile, just like Stirling does with Maggards and West Coast Shaving. However, as far as I know, MCS shave soaps are no longer produced per Eric Latta, You Tuber of Adventures in Wet Shaving. I will check the Shave Mercantile site.

    I am just going by what's written on The Shave Mercantile's website under their soap descriptions. It's obviously a private label situation.

    Happy Saturday everyone. I was up and moving early this morning knocking out a few honey do items. @Hembree Danny very generously sent some gifts my way and I decided to put a couple to use today. The Yaqi SE DLC head uses half DE blades so I paired it with a Ti handle I recently snagged on the DFS BST. The Abbate Y La Mantia Vulcano soap sample was a gift as well. The scent is a very pleasant and calming with herbal/medicinal notes. I really like the scent and my wife even comment positively about the scent while I was shaving. Three passes and touch ups ended in a drama free BBS shave. The Agua Balsamica was a perfect match for the Vulcano soap. I am smooth shaven and smelling great. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.
