Almost 400 posts behind, don't think I will be able to catch up. Decide to with simple for Sunday's shave: Saito SK-3, not fancy but definitely is classy razor. Bog Oak handle by Rudy Vey with a Shavemac DO1 flat top knot and AoS tallow. I was out when all of sudden I was invaded by the spirit of Charlie Danger..... well he will know what is new is the pic plus a bonus pic so he knows the model.

I've had other things wisk away.
Thought I'd do it right, get it over with.
Thanks on the grub, momma didn't raise a kid that couldn't take care of himself.
I've found that commercial equipment is the way to go too.
So cooking in my kitchen is a breeze.
The only thing I really need is a big fire.
60,000 btu or so, to make woks and cast iron sizzle.
    Thats on the Christmas list.
    Well.......

Interesting focus, Charlie! The only cart I ever used was the Omnishaver. My youngest son shaves his head with it, and thought I’d get some benefits. Ingrown hairs on the back of my head made it a no-go for me. Yet my Twinjector blades don’t yield ingrowns in my Supply! Go figure! Enjoy your shaves! I’m enjoying mine!

    The beans sound delightful!
    Gonna try that!
I use a cast iron skillet to bake the cornbread in.
Get it hot in an oven, pour in the cornbread batter, bake it in the oven till it's done.
One thing I do is put the pan on the stove burner on low heat when I take it out of oven before pouring in the batter.
This keeps the pan hot, and a great place to sit the hot pan while filling it with the corn goodness.
    Mmmmm......

Woodford is a nice bourbon! I broke out the Pappy to celebrate the end of this endless election! Although not a fan of the results from a business perspective, I’m just glad the danged thing is over! My bride teases me that the good Lord paired her with me after bride #1 to continue the vote cancellation process!

Clean and efficient shave this morning. Getting ready for another beautiful Fall day here on LI. A pea size scoop of soap bowl whipped with the Shore Shave Boar provided enough lather for a five pass if necessary. My goodness it was fabulous.

I am smooth and refreshed. Hope you all have a great day gentlemen.

:thanks:The Ab Inox Eco Safety Razor is a chinese clone EJ DE 89/Mulhe R89 type head which was kindly passed on to me by a work mate who tried traditional wet shaving, but decided it wasn't for him and reverted back to using cartridge & disposable razors. Each to their own....

SOTD SUNDAY MORNING, NOVEMBER 8, 2020

Today’s mug shave features a Chinese Gold Monkey razor obtained from Slash McCoy of Crescent City Razor. I've modified the original edge by killing it on the corner of my jasper stone and refinishing it in a series of decreasing slurry dilutions. The original edge shaved just fine, but my jasper stone has spoiled me. I’ve learned in my open edge journey that there are degrees of sharp, and the original edge pretty much defined the hard edge of the sharp spectrum. The refinish yielded that buttery smooth soft sharp edge I've grown to appreciate. In any case the star of this shave is the beautiful new Sapele wood/acrylic brush graciously built and provided to me by a friend at TSD. A new Omega Pro48 was the knot donor.

The new brush is an awesome lather machine. I own several Badger brushes, but my favorite brushes tend to be boar. While this brush has a way to go to be broken in, it still easily provided the two types of MWF lather I enjoy - the thinner, wetter lather for my mug shave and the thicker more yogurty lather I like for my head shaves. The Gold Monkey delivered an extremely smooth three pass (WTG, ATG, XTG) mug shave and my 2011 R41 equipped with its Weber handle felt great in hand and did the same for my two pass (ATG, ATG) dome shave. I feel velveteen smooth, cool and refreshed!

    RAZOR: Gold Monkey 666 5/8 (Mug), 2011 Muhle R41 w/ Weber Handle
    BLADE: Feather DE (Dome)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: Sapele/Acrylic Handle w/ new Omega Pro48 Boar Knot
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Osage Rub.
