  10. Thanks, it was taken on my deck early this morning. SWMBO and I went to Cape May for the day. We both really miss Tybee Island. I can’t wait until this plague is under control.

  11. November 8th

Razor: British Gen 1 Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade: Personna Chrome Platinum
    Brush: Blue Monster
    SS & AS: Stirling Piacenza

I wouldn't say this shave was a part of my alternating shaves. Basically this razor arrived early and I just wanted to use it.

All I can say is wow! These early Aristocrats are amazing. Very smooth and easy to find the sweet spot. I really really like it.

The shave was very good. A comfortable 2+ pass BBS shave. Skin stretching makes all the difference.

What I've noticed so far is that more aggressive razors are a little easier to get a close shave with, but they punish discretions without mercy. Mild razors take a little more work to find the sweet spot, but a close shave is still possible.

I'd like to shift to alternating between blades known for sharpness or smoothness and see how that changes things, but I'll need to buy some less sharp blades.

  18. Great shave, Evan! My R41 dome shave today was definitely not mild, but very satisfying! Skin stretching is the secret to great shaves with just about any safety razor.
