Never did I think that there would be a soap that could even match the Stirling Glacials in menthol power let alone overtake them but believe it or not this Cool As A Cucumber X 3 has pushed them aside and has become the coldest soap on Planet Earth. (At least to me!) Jaco is such a master soapmaker because it takes a lot of skill and knowledge to be able to put so much menthol into a soap and to retain the scent as well as the lather. This soap’s scent is very nice - along with the cucumber you get a lot of peppermint and the menthol fumes clobber you as soon as you open the container. The lather is so rich, thick, and ultra slick, the menthol sensation lands on your face like a ton of frigid bricks, and the postshave feeling is wonderful. After a nice long massage with the Prep the Arctique aftershave went on mega frigid and its lovely scent doesn’t disrupt any fragrance I wear. Smooth as silk after three most enjoyable passes!

After four days of no menthol I went back to it with a fervour this morning. Even the mentholated pre shave soap from Stirling felt really chilly and it did an awesome job of cleaning my face as well as softening my beard stubble. The Glacial Lemon Chill soap’s scent is beautiful - fresh, tangy lemon with powerful menthol fumes, the lather worked up so rich, it had the great slickness that’s so typical of Stirling soaps, the freeze jumped on me right away, and the postshave feeling was perfect. The matching balm has that same delightful scent with the same icy cold, soothing skincare, and the Arctique froze the crap out of me. Three passes left me silky smooth!

Heaven help anybody who can’t tolerate intense menthol because this Glacial Obsidian soap is loaded to the max with it and like all the other Glacials as well as the Kameelperd’s Kick and Jaco’s X 3 soaps, the longer it stays on your face the colder it gets. The scent profile is sweet anise which I love, the lather works up so rich with such great slickness, and the menthol sensation can stagger you, yet the postshave care is wonderful. The Glacial Unscented balm is also frigid, it has such great moisturizing and soothing, while the Arctique aftershave smells lovely but it doesn’t disrupt the scent of a fragrance and it feels borderline painful on the skin because it’s so cold but it’s also very comfortable once the freeze begins to subside a little. The Minora blade helped to give me a brilliant BBS shave!

The Fine Snake Bite Shave Soap face-lathered well with Jayaruh #419 Two Band Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the PAA Starling SE razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

A creamy and menthol monday with the GameChanger .68 plate series for the tool of choice.

Prep: Hot Shower and Bloom/Lather Building Water

Squirted some cream into the bottom of my Captains Choice Heavy Copper, filled the VdH bowl with Hot water, wet the brush, and built the lather you see below. Whipped right up.

Not a bad shave. Wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't bad. Pretty sure it would have been better if I didn't feel like I was in such a rush. Then again, you can't pick and choose your circumstances all of the time.

A better name for this soap would be “Frigid As The North Pole” or “Hypothermia” because that’s how it feels - IMHO this is the COLDEST soap I’ve ever used in my entire life. The scent is very nice indeed, but there’s more to it than just cucumber - to my nose there’s a lot of peppermint to it as well as powerful menthol fumes which can cause your nose to burn if you sniff too long, the lather becomes so thick and slick if you add a bit of water, and the menthol sensation hits you like ten tons of icy cold bricks, yet the skincare is perfect. The Prep gave me wonderful postshave attention, and the Arctique aftershave not only brought the freeze to another level it also smells lovely. Three passes with this nine day old Minora blade gave me a super duper BBS shave!

If you have never tried M. A. Space Soaps, I'd give it a whirl if you can get a hold of any. The owner, Mr. Robert Harding and his son make it in small batches in his house. His production has been down because he is working to help fight the CV-19 at his full time job. I think his company was one of the companies that helped make the current coming vaccines.

Anyway, his soaps are all great. Be warned, he likes menthol. He made one called Ice Planet that is great for the summer months.
