Monday's Shave Treet Razor GEM S/S PTFE Wild West Brushworks LEA Mentholated Shaving Cream Dickinson's Witch Hazel LEA Classic Aftershave Nice, cooling shave shave this morning. The Treet razor may be one of the smoothest GEM style razors that I have, and I love the handle. The guard is a bit different from the usual 1912 style and to me looks more like a Clog Pruf guard. Anyway, it is a great shaver. Two passes and a few touch-ups this morning provided a very comfortable and efficient result with no irritation or mishaps. The LEA cream and aftershave splash worked marvelously and left my face feeling mighty fine.
Sounds good, Gary! Check out Crescent City Razors, Slash McCoy’s site. He has a very detailed explanation of the “Method”, a films-based honing approach that he claims is infallible if followed exactly! I had a “Method” honed razor I bought from him that shaved beautifully! Or there are many around, myself included, that would gladly hone it for you either on a natural or synthetic stone progression.
thank you Jeff.i will converse with you before any further actions are taken..i don't want to become a straight fanatic but would like to be able to do basic shaves and razor maintenance in the future.will keep you posted.yourself and other straight wielding crew members will be my go to's..
I managed to get a 'Method' edge on a couple of my razors. They shaved very well until I blunted them on my strop!
cheers James, thank you.at this point honestly it is a novelty so far.i have lots of experience sharpening knives, chisels.drill bits and such with stones due to my mechanic /machinist career, but this would be a new encounter..i claim no experience in the razor field..
