    James, my son who’s been straight shaving for two decades recommended a paddle strop. He explained that it’s very easy for a newer straight shaver to curl the edge on a traditional hanging strop. I only use a paddle strop. Haven’t curled an edge yet!

    Razors are not difficult to hone, Gary. The proper angle is built in unlike with knives. I also collected custom knives for years, so sharpening was not new to me. Honing is not difficult, despite what you may read.
