I think that's actually back-to-back-TO BACK, unless the first one was just Super Duper. But man-oh-man, this combination has done me well . Thank you Charlie.
Thankfully, Paul, the winters here are pretty mild. I haven't posted a graph this week, so.... Freezing rain is our winter time nemesis, though.
NOvember 18th Supply SE 2 Dot Plate w Schick Proline Omega Evo Castle Forbes Lime Thayers Dior Eau Sauvage AS This stainless matte Supply SE with 3 plates arrived yesterday from Clint. Clint had kindly made this razor available and I was happy to pick it up. I had tried it a few years ago on loan from @Screwtape and I remember really enjoying it. Clint generously also added a cartridge of Proline blades (in addition to the original blades from Supply) which I've been wanting to try for awhile. This software is a fave combo and while it is probably somewhat out of season I am trying to stick to the No Repeat focus. I grabbed the Evo (out of rotation, just because) and got the usual quality CF lather. Started out with the medium 2 dot plate and had 3 very smooth passes. I don't believe the previous Supply I used was Stainless, or at least I don't remember it being this heavy if it was. The weight was fantastic and I had 3 super easy passes. I have a little bit left on the lower right neck, but a great first day. I'll play with this razor a bit after I get through my last 5 or so razors left in the rotation. Finished with this awesome stink and am ready for the day. Have a great day all!
Wonderful photo of fine gear, Jason! Congrats on adding the Supply to your den. Hope you have a great day.
Lovely shave, Joe. Never go wrong with AV. You should try the Spanish version! I have a W&B 7/8 with very similar scales at Glen’s for a refurbish! Found it in a local Antique store. The blade was black and brown, which allowed me to get it for $5. I cleaned up the blade with XXXFine steel wool. Glen will make it more presentable by cleaning up the scales.
Wonderful shave Jason! I am a firm believer of using any soap that suits your fancy anytime of the year.
Great looking shave Perry. I am glad Wilson is feeling better. Enjoy the back to back days away from school
Thank you Perry. The Winter Reserve has no easy way to control the amount used so I transferred some to a small spray bottle
SOTD WEDNESDAY MORNING, NOVEMBER 18, 2020 I was up early for a couple of medical appointments, and didn’t have time to post this earlier. My favorite shavette/Barber’s razor is my Feather DX. I can always count on a quick excellent shave, and this morning’s shave was true to form. Unfortunately, while I was shaving my mug, my dachshund, Gromit, was feeling playful and knocked a Fine American blend to the tile floor and broke it! Although I tried to clean it up, the scent gave poor SWMBO a migraine, and I lost 10 minutes leading to a rushed dome shave. It’s only my third shave with the Tradere. I ordered it on the day it became available, but due to my safety razor glut, it sat in the razor stand, and was only used twice since it’s arrival several months ago. The handle is a bit longer than I’m used to, and in my rush to get to the doc’s ended up nicking the top of my right ear. Some Proraso Styptic Gel put that to rights, leaving me clean, cool, and velveteen smooth. RAZOR: Feather DX Wood Handle (Mug), Blackland Tradere (Dome) BLADE: Feather Super AC (Mug), Feather DE (Dome) PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil BRUSH: Rooney Ebony Badger SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub.
Very nice Jason! The Supply Company injectors look amazing and Lime sounds wonderful! Congrats on the razor and the awesome hump day shave. Have a wonderful day. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
