I decided to shave this evening in case I get called in tomorrow. Over the next few months, I will be using Glastonbury and Bay Rum as my main soaps interspersed with Christmas Eve, Spice and Frankincense and Myrrh. As I was loading, I lost a number of bristles. It's rare for this brush to lose some bristles and I attribute it to hard loading. I made a nice lather to prep my beard for the shave. 2.5 passes and minor pickups gave me a BBS - shave without bloodshed or iritation. Splashed a decent amount of aftershave which gave me a little burn. I am smiling because I like the way my skin looks and feels. Have a nice evening guys! View attachment 239430

Early shave and late posting. I'm still catching up on today's posts, even as they continue to grow.

I lost count on the number of shaves with this GEM blade, but I think it may be 6 or 7...so after feeling a bit tuggy today, it's time for a change. Overall it was a near flawless shave though.
3 slow and focused passes with the Featherweight provided a DFS++ result this morning with no irritation or mishaps. This is one of my favorite cologne dupes.

Thank you Andrew! I only have 2 boar brushes in my collection of 10. The setup is a moderately priced one. The soap and aftershave was approx $27. The brush was just under $10 and the razor was $16. As I have always stated, you can get a great shave without going deep into your wallet. Unfortunately, I like a variety of brushes, razors and soaps. I have a modest collection compared to others and the amount of money I have spent is mind boggling to me. However, it is my only hobby and at least I am not spending it on drinking, smoking or drugging.

SOTD FRIDAY MORNING, NOVEMBER 20, 2020

This morning I decided to shave with my 1976 Gold Bicentennial Edition Schick Krona. I shaved with a regular Krona for over 50 yrs until it broke. They are excellent shavers, and this particular safety razor did the job. Coupled with my C-Mon Special, new Sapele/Resin handled Pro48 boar, and MWF the shave was spectacular. Alum check revealed no heat. I feel cool, velveteen smooth, clean, refreshed and ready for the day.

RAZOR: C-Mon Special 11/16 (Mug), 1976 Gold Bicentennial Edition Schick Krona (Dome)
BLADE: Feather DE
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: Sapele/Resin Handled Pro48 Boar
SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub.

Fat Friday! This setup always works well for me. Tons of luscious Fat lather swiped away with ease by the Fatboy. One pass with some touch-up on the chin. Splash of witch hazel and a healthy splash of American Blend and I'm ready to go.

Last workday until November 30 since we have all next week off. We're heading to Gulf Shores, Alabama this afternoon for a brief stay and then on to Mobile for Thanksgiving. We'll come back next Friday.

Next up in the No Repeat focus is this fave software for Fougere Friday. Love every E or G Schick I’ve owned and this knot has rounded into form.
A very nice 3 pass shave has left me smelling great and looking forward to the end of the week.
One downside to a 3x milled puck? The splash is almost gone and the soap is barely showing signs of usage.
