November 24, 2020 Rex Ambassador Gillette 7 O’clock Yellow MR EE #4 with SHD 2 Band Fan La Toja Shave Cream & Aftershave For no particular reason, I am moving pretty slowly today. I just love La Toja shaving cream and shave sticks. The mineral scent is so refreshing with top notch performance to match. MR EE #4 did a wonderful job face lathering the cream. I did switch out the blade to a 7 O' clock yellow. Since I missed shaving yesterday, I dialed the Ambassador up to 6 for the first two passes and down to 3 for the final passes. With touch ups I ended up with a smooth BBS shave. I can say that I am not a fan of the Tatra blade in the Rex. A splash of La Toja aftershave and I think I might be ready to get some work done. NOvember 24th Gillette SC w PermaSharp APShave flattop/Sapele Fine American Blend combo Thayers Next up in the rotation today is the recently oft-mentioned American Blend. Checked the tracking on my 2 razors returning from Evan’s and unless it is way off it looks like I’ll have just one razor left in the den to get through until the weekend. More time to play with the new to me Supply. Whipped up the usual Fine lather, and enjoyed the easy 3 passes. I find American Blend pleasant, but without the fave status of a few of his other dupes. The New did what a New usually does. Have a great day all!
Aaaand another winner from my Central Texas Soaps Week-end Rodeo set. 0:20 to load the Stoylin Pro-Angle. I found today all I really needed was the 20. This was another of my "Boy, I'm Gonna Need That Second Pass" shaves. 1st pass was fine, just too moist at the beginning. Yet it got the work done. Rinsing after the first pass, I felt like I was touching clouds in the form of my face and neck. For pass 2, the soap came on a little drier-what you want. I did well in all areas, especially proud that I am doing well of late in clearing the N. Cactus Nation area(just below the jawline). Cut/Knick free shave. Might have administered a little too much of the aftershave, but it'll calm down. Out Of This World Excellent.
