Thank you Joe....and that's exactly what I want to do . Say, how's that new Islander arena coming along???
SOTD TUESDAY MORNING, NOVEMBER 24, 2020 Great shave this morning! The Dubl Duck Goldedge 11/16 delivered its usual great mug shave! The only difference this morning is that I relied on a two pass (ATG, XTG) shave instead of my usual three pass shave. The two pass shave works, but does require more technical skin stretching. I think I prefer the more relaxed three pass shave. My noggin shave was the usual two pass (ATG, ATG) and featured my RazoRock DLC Coated SS Lupo. I keep forgetting what a tremendously efficient razor the Lupo is. I feel refreshed, cool, and velveteen smooth. RAZOR: Dubl Duck Goldedge 11/16 (Mug), RazoRock DLC Coated SS Lupo (Dome) BLADE: Suneko DE PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Argan Oil BRUSH: Rearden Razor 326l SS Tuxedo Synth SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Cremo Cooling Post Shave Balm.
Congrats Paul. You knocked it outta the park again! This shave called for an extra splash of AS. Being mindful and shaving slow and easy usually gets me the best results. I've got one more cart shave with my Trac II today before bringing out my Gillette Red Tip. It has been an enjoyable focus mainly because I pair it up with a great soap and aftershave. No problems here with Cactus Nation, either. Carts work every bit as good for me as DE razors. I don't have a super heavy beard, and I don't get ingrown hairs regardless of the razor I use. What are your plans for Thanksgiving, Paul?
Tuesday's Shave Eversharp/Schick Hydromagic Schick Blade CSB Faux Horn Badger JoHS Blood on Steel Shaving Soap Dickinson's Witch Hazel JoHS Blood on Steel Aftershave It's BoS for Tobacco Tuesday...and I'm really enjoying this soap/aftershave set. 2 easy passes with the Hydromagic provided a comfortable and efficient finish this morning with no irritation or mishaps.
Thanks, Charlie. The snow has stopped and not too heavy a work load today. Well, as of now not too heavy a work load. That's always subject to change. One of our jobs fell through because the 40t crane isn't available. The other three jobs are pretty small and shouldn't take long if operations will give them to us. November 24th Razorock SS & AS - Blue Fougère Omega EVO Synthetic Hüsgen & Ern 6/8 Continuing the no repeat November......great simple setup, fun face lathering from the EVO and RR's Blur Fougère's shave soap (very soft like a croap though). The Hüsgen & Ern straight.....short round on the linen and leather strop this morning, and a very nice smooth shaver. 2.5 passes, first was WTG, then 'out to in' XTG, followed by the opposite 'in to out' XTG pass for the neck/jawline only. One minor skin blemish weeper on the neck, otherwise a near perfect BBS shave. Hefty palmful of this juice, a fragrant fougère, very pleasant much in the same vein as SV's Felce Aromatica, but with a sweeter 'barbershop' vibe if that makes sense. Excellent longevity with this after shave. Hope everyone has a terrific Tuesday!
Sad answer for Thanksgiving.....I thought I'd be going to my sister's again, but she decided to play it safe in this Covid-19 era and not have guests. Thus I'll be here myself. I don't blame her for her decision...perhaps it is a better decision for ME too...I think many will be on their own this year. She did say she wanted us to have a pleasant walk/hike together before it gets real cold. That should be nice. As for my shave, thanks much . I do think I am gaining confidence with my shaves. Like you, I keep aiming to have great soaps&aftershaves, to the extent I can afford them. Before the year is out, I'll do my Most Expensive Purchase(s) I Have Ever Made Since Being a TSD Member.
I thought I saw a portion of it a few weeks ago while watching a Belmont Park race.Couldn't focus on it, as the horses were running too fast past it, lol.
