Excellent shave Danny! Redtip seems to be in mint condition. I wouldn't know about being slick as a catfish belly, but I do know about NY roads being super slick in Jan/Feb.
NOVember Acqua di Parma~~Simpson Harvard 4~~Barbasol FH/Wilkinson Light Brigade I am curiously disciplined lately and today continues the trend. Titanicing my way through the AdP soap, which won't last til the end of the month. The Light Brigade, today inserted in my Barbasol FH, is still amazing. What a champ! New on today's docket is a Simpson H4 with a one-of-a-kind (literally) Two Band SiLVERTiP 25mm knot. Making lather is clearly in this brush's DNA, as these pictures show. This is not a SHD knot, as many of today's brushes are, thus allowing for a modicum of "splay" Although, this user eschews the practice of mashing his upper-echelon brushes into the soap or face. I reserve that practice for my CH2 Synthetic, which is built to withstand such abuse. The shave itself was quite extraordinary. Three passes, including the always-dangerous ATG on the neck, resulted in a BBS shave without incident. Smooth. 5-6 healthy spritzes of the AdP Colonia, mostly landing on my shirt, and I am ready for whatever this day shall bring me. Hope everyone out there has a great shave and a stupendous day.
Shave was little off stride today, but not by much. 0:30 at the loading dock for the Jayaruh...not being satisfied with the results from the first 30, I gave it 0:10 more, then bagan the shave. Good work on the first pass, especially given that I had the presence of mind to redo N.E. Porcupine Alley(that area has become quite stubborn lately). Equal success along Cactus Nation, especially at the Northern edge. BUT THEN...two red polka dots "showed up" just at the lips. No one wants to see those, of course, but at least I didn't drive over a speed bump to cause them. Second pass went well. A healthy dose or two of the leather aftershave. Back it goes into the "den" for the next time around...whenever that is. The polka dots were gone with the cold-water rinse. (Before the aftershave, of course). SuperDuper Excellent.
NOvember 25th RR .68 Gamechanger Jaws w Sputnik (1) TGN Finest/ Maple Stirling Gin&Tonic SS Thayers Maol Frosted Frankinlime AS Last razor in the rotation, as my vagabond, intrepid package continues its north-then East- then West jaunt across our fine continent with my last two razors in it. Love the Jaws and loaded my last Sputnik in it. A fine Russian Gillette blade that has gone up in price lately. I got a couple of tucks 3 years ago or so. I believe mine came from @Keithmax in one of our trades...or maybe it was Neal. Anyway, a quality blade. 3 easy passes and I am quite smooth. Everything worked as it should. Not perfect on the neck, but I didn’t chase it with any buffing either. Have a great day all!
Thank you Blair. Thank you Andrew. LEA just flat works. Thank you Joe. LEA makes some great stuff. It’s hard to believe something so good is available in grocery stores in Spain.
Sorry about the nicks Clint but it was still an excellent shave. Hopefully you will have the afternoon off.
