What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

    After several weeks away from home and enjoying a C3 early Schick and a Personna Floating head with a twin blade I picked up a straight for today’s shave. This is always one of my favorites (I think I’ve concluded it’s not possible to have a favorite that endures.) The Thayers at the end felt especially nice and topped off a wonderful shave :happy036:

    The subtle increase in width from heel to point always catches my eye. I’ve been playing with the Trans Ark on a few of these American blades lately... enjoying that stone a little more.

    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
    POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brushsqueezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Cremo Cooling Post Shave Balm.

    MK 33, soap was MdC fougere lathered with a Keyhole 4, and a few drops of Floris 89 mixed with several drops of water in the palm made a perfect AS compliment.

    Second outing with my long sought after John & Wm Ragg Napoleon. It only took four years to hunt it down after missing out on it in an eBay auction. I love the smile. Still dialing it in but smooth and close result. :happy088:

    The stamp says Cornet Challans. Challans is a town in the French departement Vendée. The region is nice to go to in the summer with the beaches and the sea.

    I think the razor is a rebranded P Hospital/Le grelot 'Le petit coiffeur'. The shape and tubeset number is the same.

    Finishing stone was a piece of thuringer.

    Palmolive sensitive shaving cream
    Zenith boar brush

    And a cooling pitralon classic after shave splash.
