  3. I went out and picked up a bottle of the P&G Old Spice Classic cologne, I read on a thread somewhere here on the shave den that back in 2016 P&G reformulated the cologne (as well as the after shave, don't quote me though on that) anyway I wanted to reminisce a little bit on my child hood to see how the new formulation smelled. In 2014 I owned a bottle of the cologne and comparing the scent of the current formulation to my scent memory of the old formulation that I owned, I can tell that the older P&G formula was more powdery and less floral-ee it had a nice cinnamon and nutmeg but the cinnamon was much more dominant. It was much more closer to the shulton formulation when comparing it to the new P&G formulation (2016 - ) . This bottle I find to be a little disappointing. It is much more floral smelling, less powdery, almost has no cinnamon and vanilla but just a strong nutmeg. not bad but not great. Ya'll have a GREAT Thanks Giving! IMG_20201125_125721.jpg

  14. Lots of LEA love on the thread! Great shave, Andrew. Do I recall correctly that your family is in the Oxford area? I could be wrong.

Also, I love the name of the brush. Roll Tide!
  15. Thanks, Myles!

L'Occitane Shave Cream (Cade) & EAV DES BAVX EdT
Jason's BRM (blue resin maple) w/TGN 28mm Silver tip
    Ralf Aust
Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements - Star Jelly ASB

Late morning shave....girls out of school this week, wifey's on vacation today, and I've gotten today's work done from 5am to 9am while everyone else slept in. Then.....made breakfast.

Excellent bowl/face lather from Jason's BRM loaded with a TGN behemoth SHD silvertip. The L'Occitane shave cream is easy lathering, but feels 'too clean', and slowly dissipates during a shave pass. For the second lather, added a few drops of glycerin to the shave bowl, and relathered. Better.... 2.5 very deliberate passes with the Ralf Aust, focusing on a very low (~1/2 to 2/3 spines' width) angle for growth removal. Really efficient shaving when it all comes together. First pass was WTG, remaining was opposite sides of an X pass. One of the most fun parts of shaving with a straight razor (at least to this brain matter), is seeing the dark peppery growth reduction in the wisp of shaving cream on the blade's edge right before you rinse it off....and....it not be tainted with the liquid under the skin :happy108:. BBS smooth, no issues to report. Smidge of PAA'S Star Jelly (a lightly mentholated gel like balm, unscented) followed by 'I lost count' number of spritzes with the L'Occitane EdT. Smelling awesome, feeling refreshed, even though there's not much on the agenda for the rest of the day other than 1 Black Friday errand and some Holiday decorating with wifey.
