Happy Friday Everyone. It has certainly been a day for me. The day started off well with the rare opportunity to sleep in with a leisurely morning and early afternoon spend with the family. I until the mail ran for my shower and shave. Given my complete lack of patience, I wanted to try out the new Parker Adjustable Injector I ordered on a whim.
@PLAla Perry did a wonderful job enabling me. Honestly I am easily enabled. While digging around in my cabinet, I spotted the Zenith Chubby Boar that I have not used in a very long time. Since it is MWF Friday, I soaked, bloomed, baptized or drowned the soap while showering. The Chubby Boar tore through the MWF and was a joy to face lather. My best results to date with the MWF, The Parker shipped with a new blade but I loaded a new one anyway. The first sensation of the razor is the lightness. Seriously next to a Supply Co injector this felt toy like. If you are looking for a fire breathing 1 or 2 pass razor, move along. I dialed the Parker wide open and had little to no blade feel. Three passes and touch ups caught the baby but I had to work at catching the little guy. I am sure the results will improve with use but this will never be the sharpest knife in the drawer.
Shortly after the shower and shave, I got the call that my Aunt had just passed. This is my Mom's younger sister. So Asha and I drove the hour to break the bad news to my Mom in person. No matter how many times, I have been the one to deliver this news, it never gets easy. Times like today make it seem that it gets harder each time. Asha and I spent the afternoon and early evening with Mom. We left when my nephew, Spencer, arrived to keep Mom company. Sometimes it does take a village. For such a tiny little lady, she has been so strong losing her husband, daughter and all her brothers and sisters. I really didn't have a good answer when she asked "What am I supposed to do now?" I just told her we do what we always do. "Get up and put one foot in front of the other until our turn is over". I would not be surprised to receive a call from Mom asking me to come back in the wee hours of the night or morning. For those so inclined, please keep my Mom in their prayers.
