I think I may have converted my uncle to traditional shaving. I showed him some of my safety razors in my collection that he thought were really cool looking, when I told him how cheap a pack of a 100 blades are, compared to his cartridge replacement blades, I think that sold him. Found out his birthday is tomorrow, ended up giving him one of my razors and a pack of Voskhod's. Hoping he will not have any problems with his new DE razor. However the man is still adamant on using his canned shave cream. Maybe Santa will stop by and help him out with a proper shave soap and a brush this Christmas.

That's great Myles! You may want to show him how to use the razor, brush and soap with your own gear so he has a foundation to properly wetshave.

I told him to avoid adding pressure to the razor, start with shorter strokes when starting out and do longer strokes when more experienced.

I was also thinking on showing him how to make the proper lather with shaving soap.
