You should come visit sometime. Joe, @Trigger, and I would meet you for a meal at a diner or some other eating establishment.
Everyone's perception on this soap goes from smells nice, meh, and downright awful. Personally, it's an industrial, clean smelling scent that isn't overpowering. Now, it could be my sinusitus prevents me from getting the full blast, but I really don't believe so. It's a case of one man's trash is another's treasure. You have nothing to lose because it really is inexpensive If the smell bothers you, then you can air it out. The performance of the soap is very good.
Paul, you can take the Bridgeport Ferry across to Port Jefferson, Long Island. Late spring/summer would be ideal.
Arko is the okaiest soap out there. It's better than modern Williams Mug Soap. I don't hate the smell and I've shaved with worse, but in a den full of fantastic soaps, I never use it. It's kind of like going to a fancy breakfast bar and having all you can eat plain, unsweetened oatmeal. It does the job, but bacon, waffles, and a side of eggs does it with more satisfaction.
