Welcome aboard! We usually go by first names. My name is Joe. If you are a new straight razor user, then I would recommend the thread, Straight Razor and Shavette Guide for Newbies. It gives great info on tips for shaving with open blade razors from me and other straight razor users from TSD. The thread is under the Straight Razor Forum. You will have to scroll to find it. It probably is on page 5 or 6.
Thanks Joe. I normally shave 2 or 3 times a week depending on whether I have to go in the office or not. I am going to make an effort to shave and post this month. You reminded me of something my father used to say before he passed, when someone said Good to see you, his reply was always it's good to be seen.
A few more toys back from @MrEE ’s beauty salon. These should get a day or two for the Decadent focus. My Canadian New Deluxe and US Goodwill now with a new Gold topcoat: Evan even threw a few tucks of blades in for the return trip. Awesome job again, Evan!
I am Chris. Thanks for the kind welcome. I am not new to SRs, but very much a novice. I had a great bloodless shave tonight with a German (Solingen) SR. I believe I would improve faster if I focused just on SR shaving, but the Fatboy seems to call my name when I am in a hurry. I will use a straight until the Boker arrives so I can get better at it. I love old tools, including hand planes and prre-1900 hand saws, so SRs just seem to be a natural fit. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Nice to meet you Chris! We have some experienced straight razor shavers that are more than willing to help. Congrats on your bloodless straight shave.
Beautiful. It is oddly warm for NY this season. Might have a fire in the pit tomorrow night though. Enjoy the fire. Chris - enjoying learning, whatever the subject
Hey Chris, this is Danny. Glad to have ya aboard! Going down to 25 degrees tonight in Alabama. That is cold for us boys.
Wow, much colder than here in Upstate NY. My folks are in Georgia and it is cooler there as well. By the way, I love Alabama and spent some time in Southern Alabama, Ft. Rucker, as well as Talladega - loved watching the race. You live in an awesome area of the country. Chris - enjoying learning, whatever the subject
