I didn't want to shave later in the evening so I decided to do it now. Bloomed the soap and used the water as a preshave. I just love this Bay Rum scent that I put it all over my face, on the top of my forehead and on the dome top. I used the pasty load method and painted the dry soap on my face. Dipped the tips in the mug of water to really kick up the soap to lather. Repeated my wetting the tips a few more times to get that rich, creamy, slick, cushiony Stirling lather. I like this method because the soap doesn't run down the handle and we all know that is a pain in the neck. I only needed 2 passes for a BBS shave. Did open a weep on the chin, but it left with cold water. Gave myself a liberal dose of the Stirling Bay Rum aftershave to finish the last shave of November. Have a good night guys!

Thank you Myles! Stirling Bay Rum scent is definitely awesome. Just like my Stirling Piacenza SS, I will run out of the Stirling Bay Rum soap and still have plenty of matching aftershave.

Well the red tip came in his mornin. Gave it a light polish, I’ll do a shave this afternoon before I have to head out to pt. I don’t think it will be too aggressive, it has about the same weight as my aristocrat when holding it in hand. This red tip has a fatter and better feeling handle though

good morning gents.month end menthol monday shave..fine 2+ pass bbs shave with the new/tech hybrid astra combo.this is basically a new rfb with a safety bar.rhodium plated to boot.today i used it with the early 50s solid military handle for perfect weight and balance..this razor and a spare rfb oc base plate are all i would keep if i had to pare down to one choice.
fine palmolive lather built in a bowl with the bbj omega 10098 replica brush,complete with it's boar knot.proraso green to finish.awesome.
been a swell november here at the club .glad to be part of it and grateful for the friendships here.i will continue my daily shave routine in Decadent DEcember with my beloved brit gillettes and a surprise or two maybe,complete with long drawn out explanations and pics about each....i'll keep it simple..have a fine day everyone..

2+ passes this morning resulted in a near-BBS mug to start the week. Stretching my skin using alum on my fingertips always improves the closeness and comfort. @Paul Turner I rewetted and reapplied my lather and several times during the shave. Doing this encourages me to shave more slowly and mindfully. I don't have to rush the shave before the lather dries out.

I rinsed my face with warm water, applied alum, and let it sit for a couple of minutes while I cleaned up everything. The alum was fairly quiet today, and I find this helps with the post-shave feel. After I go through my post-shave routine, I pat my face with a dry towel to remove any excess, and I'm ready to go.
