  5. different market maybe?,thayers products are scented with aloe vera and other ingredients.also different between astringent and toner.astringent has alcohol added.

  6. I may have to tap your creative powers net time I make a "razor". That's depending on further cookie/royalty payment negotiations though. We must have some cookie brands here that aren't available where you are . A man of your talent probably has a high asking price I assume.

  7. Gary, the thing I never got about all the whining around honing is that it is magnitudes easier than sharpening knives. The angle is built in. I would suggest watching a couple of Glen Mercurio (@gssixgun) or Lynn Abrams videos. You’ll get it easily!

  14. Great shave, Andrew! The only Muhle I own is my 2011 R41, but if yours shaves as well as mine, it must be a winner!!

  15. No, I get it. Not weird. You just have your own preferences.

The first WH I used was Thayers (because that's what I saw on the forums). Then I bought some Walmart (Equate) witch hazel. I noticed a much stronger smell from it. Then, I tried Dickinson's and have used it ever since. To me, it falls in the middle for scent strength (and cost). Honestly, I don't mind the scent.

On another note, for some reason I have not seen store brand generic WH available in either Walmart, Kroger or Publix ever since the pandemic started in March. And Dickinson's is hit or miss for availability. I have no idea what would cause a WH shortage during a pandemic. I don't believe it has really strong antibacterial or antiviral properties.
  16. don't get me wrong.WD-40 isn't something that you want to soak your face with.most of these vintage gillettes survived without any real maintenance but rinsing."rode hard and put away wet"
i have used this stuff for protecting exterior door lock assemblies/key tumblers on cars with great results.including frozen locks.mineral oils, graphite concoctions gum stuff up after time and heat play their role.any liquid lubricant with an evaporative aerosol carrier will protect metal quite well under normal circumstances.remember to wipe of the excess from the razor doors and handle and let dry..this and a somewhat routine soak to remove soap build up will guarantee your tto's to last a long time.:).mineral oils work well but require more frequent maintenance..
