Sound like a plan...I'm in! Andrew could also swing by and pick up Clint. Do it this summer and we can all hit the pool......a 30DC pool party. I can only imagine the pictures Charlie @wristwatchb will be posting about that.
Ok guys! Here's my first shaving video ever of this afternoon's shave. In the first 2 minutes, I am loading my brush and facelathering. Notice, I went to the puck to reload because I felt that the lather was too thin for me. Are you noticing Paul? Also, I don't shave with my glasses on my face. Now, I went quickly just to see if I can make a video so my routine was not perfect by my standards. Anyway, enjoy the show!
Well....a good bit of the beachfronts along the Gulf of Mexico.....there's either the usual 'dead/decaying ocean life' smell, or much too often the lovely aroma of the drainage outlets/culverts that were installed long ago. Get off shore a mile or more, now that's aquatic aroma that is very nice, which I think is the fragrance The Watchman is trying to replicate. It does it very well, imo, with a light berry/fruit overlay.
The only Stirling Soap I have is Stirling Osidian which I use very infrequently. It's a very thirsty soap, but generates a decent lather. I have a number of their Splashes, which I never use due to SWMBO. I’ve been PIFing and gifting those here and their. My son, Ben is a Lemon Chill fanatic, it's practically the only soap he uses. He teases me frequently about my ‘old man soap’ (i.e.MWF). That’s the soap I use practically all the time with brief Nancy Boy and possibly this Kaizen stuff, if I can put up with the stink, now and then. I’ve been leaving the top off the Kaizen. My focus is shaving tools and techniques. The only scent I can use around the bride are my lime scents. Those don't tend to bother her.
Thank you Blair! I definitely will be shaving with my Mad Max this Saturday and make a video of it per @Primotenore's request. Obviously, I will be more deliberate with my strokes and go at my normal pace.
Another thing about "croaps". They already have such a high water content, it's advisable to spoon your desired amount out, rather than introduce more water into the soap.
One question, two comments. Here's the ?. Does face-lathering pertain to the amount of water/moisture used to "paint" the face&neck? Now the comments-1)-I couldn't succeed without my glasses today the way I used to. 2)-What about the sound??????(Course that was a question too...shux lol). Good show.
I think that's what I was(and am now)experiencing with two Razorock soaps, Aqua some time ago, and Gold, now.
While I was sleeping you guys were very busy, about 350 posts behind. I repeated yesterday's order, XTG opposite direction, XTG, ATG and WTG. Once again the first pass felt rough but in the end no irritation. The results were very similar to yesterday and it was tough call on the smoothness but just an A again. Irritation was A+. The first pass is not comfortable so this is the last test of this order. Today's razor was 7/8 full hollow Dorko, one of my favorites. I woke up early and went crazy with the lather, Tabac plus AoS tallow plus some liquid lanolin. The lather quality felt like normal Tabac but the aftershave was bit nicer.
Thank you Paul! Facelathering is just applying the soap to the face after loading from the puck. Bowl lathering is making the lather in the bowl and then applying it to the face. As far as the sound, the mike on the phone is not that great. I have to use earplugs when I am speaking to someone on the cell. I will do a practice vid to see how loud I need to speak for the audio to be heard. In any event, I will start Sat. shave video from wetting my face to applying the aftershave. Hopefully, the video will be under 20 min. give or take a few.
