December 3rd Razor: British Gillette Gen 1 Aristocrat Blade: PolSilver Brush: JTSpartan African YaYa With 10098 knot SS & AS: Tabac Loven life and the British Aristocrat. The second shave on the PolSilver was better. I find that happens a lot.
Well I decided to break out the straight razor again for this shave, Thank you @b1hart for helping me fix my SR by providing me with a honing stone, the edge on this thing is alot better. gonna be going real nice and slow on this shave to avoid any cuts, pretty sharp so I am very happy how this blade turned out. brought out some vintage aqua velva, haven't used it in a while. shave soap of choice Proraso Green.
Good point Joe! I never dip the brush in a croap either . I spoon it out or use a snurdle sized spoon.
Nice shave, pic and straight Myles! May I offer you a tip. When you land the blade on your face, have it completely flat, then tilt the razor at approx the width of the spine and then move the blade just a bit to see if you are cutting hair. If you are, then you are good to go. This will prevent landing cuts.
Killer setup Evan! Awesomeness in all those choices! Nice vintage choices Myles! Let us know how it goes.
Yeah I was probably asking for alot there but even if you just did it from the front would really help me get an idea on your technique as I'm still finding my way yet.
