SOTD December 4, 2020 Brush: Omega 10049 boar Razor: Gillette Fatboy Blade: Astra SP Lather: Mitchell's Wool Fat Post: Witch hazel, Fine American Blend aftershave Fat Friday! I got a better shave in one pass with the Fatboy on 9 this morning that I did with two passes on any setting with the Parker Adjustable. That'll tell you something.... Easy, smooth, comfortable shave today. Fantastic Fat lather swiped away with ease by a new Astra blade and the magnificent razor. Healthy splash of American Blend and all worked quite well. Happy Friday, all. Enjoy your day!
Great MWF shave, Dale! I was surprised to see the DE! I’ve always thought of you as the Gem master! Your use of your Streamline early on definitely enabled me to acquire mine! I’m glad I did!
Nothing like a classic Friday MWF Fatboy shave, Perry! I’ll have to shave mine wide open! You’ve inspired me! Enjoy your day and stay safe and healthy, Perry!
Very nice Chris! The TSD straight razor shave of the day thread is always great eye candy for sure! Nice one Joe! Love the lather shot. Great MWF & Red tip shave Dale. 13 shaves, 1 DE blade? Wow. Awesome Perry. Love the music score background!
Here you go Myles. I never saw any of Lynn's videos until I was already honing my straights, late summer 2019. This is a great one also. Tons of info, showing very slow deliberate strokes.
December 4, 2020 Blackland Tradere OC Gillette 7 O’clock Black Heritage Collections C-Mon Mitchell’s Wool Fat Fine Green Vetiver Guerlain Vetiver EdT Happy Friday Everyone. With all the talk about the Blackland Tradere razor lately, I just had to pull mine out for a go. The loaded the MWF like it owed me money and was past due. I generally load brushes by sight. I want to see the soap climb all the way up the knot. This way lather hog or not, the lather will release since it has no where to go. The big C-Mon was a joy face lathering. Taking my time to add water slowly, I ended up with a mountain of rich slick lather. Now on to the shave. Three passes and touch ups just missed the baby. My lower right neck proved to be my nemesis once again. I find the Tradere to be an excellent combination of smoothness and efficiency. Much like the Feather or Tatara it has a sweet spot that delivers the goods. I enjoyed the Green Vetiver and Guerlain Vetiver EdT so much, I repeated the process again today. I hope everyone has a great Friday.
Wonderful Fat shave, Clint! That brush is outstanding. Love the blue handle. The light scent of The Fat makes it easy to use whatever aftershave you please. I enjoy that aspect. In fact, I think I'm headed towards a few light-scented soaps and a variety of aftershaves. I'm going to continue to work through my soaps and maybe this time next year I'll be ready for that shift.
