Oh I'll say . Lol My first time using MWF wasn't bad but this time I just wasn't getting it right Jason.
Another tip from a regular user, Patrick. If you build a dry paste on the brush, apply it to your mug, and face lather. Just keep adding water until the lather is the consistency you want. I use MWF practically every day, and used the latter approach when I first began using it. It is a very thirsty soap!
Great shave, Patrick! Don't get frustrated. Keep at it, the skin conditioning benefits are well worth it!
works well.i do that with face lathering and use a boar brush with MWF.rarely bowl lather it any more..
Great shave, Jim, with a gorgeous safety razor aquisition. I’ve never shaved with one, but they have a wonderful rep. Love that scalloped head!
Probably the worst Fat lather I ever had was from bowl lathering. I have some cool bowls and maybe use them once or twice a year. Bowl lathering doesn't do it for me with any soap.
Agreed, Chris! Billie, Steve and Tom post some shots of some incredible vintage razors always either newly restored or NOS!
It took me a while to find the right one, Joe! Make sure you check the threading on the handle, it can be a problem. Learned this at the Shave Collectibles Mtg back in October 2019 from a dedicated Barbasol collector. Bought mine NOS with case, box, and instructions. Hopefully, God willing, I’ll be able to attend the next one in October 2021. Good luck in your search.
Thanks, Jason! I have a hybrid knot in mine that is just an awesome lather builder. I don’t know where Evan sourced it, but I’d like another for a handle I’ve hade hanging around, I need to measure the diameter, but I think it’s 24mm.
You've named my favorite Gillettes, Dale. I also have a Barbasol FH that’s a great shaver. Enjoy your day today, and your weekend!
Nice acquisition, Danny! It's so heartening to hear stories of caring for relatives here on the crew! That’s one of the qualities many of the members share, and it’s one of the reasons I enjoy this outfit so much!
