I have to say, these videos are really great and quite informative. Different content, but the goal is the same: help our TSD members get better shaves. Thank you gentlemen for the supreme effort you have made to improve the 30DC thread. Joe: That razor look like a butcher knife!!! BTW, well done under the nose.
Try a Gillette Rubie sometime. Those blades don't know when to quit. If memory serves, the one I tried went about 19 or 20 shaves, and probably could've gone a few more.
I think this is a very good point, Andrew. It's more about what makes your shave more pleasurable. I have tried both and never experienced a big enough difference...if I indeed felt one at all, that would make me want to change my routine. Which, BTW, is a warm water shave and a cold water rinse.
As I chronicle my story, this will have to make an appearance... Kinda hard to top your Bowie Knife shave though.
Perry, I may have exaggerated a little but I believe it could be put in a tube. It is so soft that you have to be carefull loading the brush as not push the brush into the soap. You more or less have to wipe the brush across the soap. It does build a great quick lather. Thanks!
Congrats on 450 straight shaves. Looking forward to seeing the video. Awesome shave with the meat clever!
I appreciate the kind words, gentlemen. The brush was a lucky buy from Amazon actually. They are also sold on AliExpress. For the price, it is a nice brush. The faux ox horn and the shape are what drew me to it. Right now is the coldest water of the year! Today was just an experiment with the warm water and I think I will stick with the cold water shaves. I always use hot water to rinse my razor, so the shave isn't completely cold. That seems like a logical choice! Honestly, I was expecting to see different results today. Seeing none just confirmed my suspicions that my shave routine has improved over time.
Awesome shave Jim! Do you like the thinner profile of the head design of the Timeless over their older design?
Kudos, gentlemen! Both videos were very educational and entertaining to watch. Thank you for posting them to the thread. I saw a contraption at Walmart today that looks like it would be perfect for filming shaving videos. It's a suction cup phone mount/holder (it looks different from the ones used in the car). Bill, is that what you are using?
I go Christmas shopping and come back to nearly 200 posts. I don't think I can keep up. Great thread though. Chris - enjoying learning, whatever the subject
Thank you Maestro! It was my pleasure to do it. Explaining technique is better when someone sees it versus sharing it via text.
Thanks, Danny! I do tend to like razors with thinner heads but I've never had a problem getting great shaves from the thicker design. Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
