It's either a Japanese game show, or you're playing grammar police. (Fixed it in the OP - thanks)

oh, and I bought my first car ever today. A used 2006 Chrysler Town and Country minivan. I am so married. And I am such a daddy. Why else would I buy a soccer mom van? Don't answer that. This means you, Jim.

    insurance snafu update...

Three separate coincidences by three different companies. All together they mean nothing.. .but when they all show up on Saturday morning (via Sheriff's deputy or U.S. Mail) it sure looks like something.

Therapy 1 made a mistake in billing. The insurance refused to pay them. They assumed that the therapy service at daughter's school was billing the insurance and that is why the double billing claim. Now, insurance was asking for already made payments back. Therapy 1 sends us a bill for about $3000 and a not so nice note. In a phone conversation, they say it is all because the school is charging insurance. I didn't believe it at first - because it was a crazy claim. Also, I assumed it would be a big error on the insurance to break privacy and tell Therapy 1 that the school therapy was at fault.
Next letter I opened was from her school therapy service. It was a statement saying that about $3000 had been sent in to our insurance and that we still owed them a bit.
While dealing with this and trying to get people on the phone the deputy showed up with the paperwork from the insurance company and an upcoming court date.

So all that was Saturday afternoon.

Today I spent quite a bit of time on the phone.. here is what I found out.

    1) School's therapy did not send anything in to our insurance. They don't even have our insurance information. The default wording on the paperwork we received was "insurance". In reality, the bill was sent to the school and the school was the "insurance". The paperwork I received wasn't even supposed to go to me. It was supposed to go to the accounting department at daughter's school and someone keyed in the wrong address on the computer.
    2) Therapy 1 screwed up there billing and they had filed double sets of insurance claims and the insurance was denying one set of payments and getting their over payments back. Therapy 1 assumed that the school therapy was to blame and not them.i
    3) in the process of dealing with Therapy 1, someone keyed something in on the computer wrong and then the legal department at the insurance decided we were to blame and was looking for retribution from us.

So there you go, three separate errors by three separate groups. All together and all coming in on Saturday look like a royal fubar in action. In reality, they all mean nothing. Just another example of my lovely luck.

I am still not trusting the situation. But things aren't looking as bad now as they were before.

Can you imaging how much less healthcare would cost if we weren't paying idiots by the hour to screw up the billing?

Good to hear it's just some billing idiocy and nothing that should cost you in the end.
