thank you Jeff.would love to see williams shave soap become the ikon it it used to be..seems like a win win..for pennies more a shave.we wet shavers carry more weight these days..
That’s very cool, Jason! Glen Mercurio (@gssixgun) also lives in Sandpoint. He’s currently working on two of my razors.
I appreciate the memorial to Pearl Harbor. My grandfather fought in WWII and would tell me a few stories, but didn't talk about it with others. I believe it was due to our connection with both of us being in the military. Today I returned to the focus of the thread; a Solingen straight razor with 50 laps on each side on leather, and Stirling Christmas Eve, custom boar brush. Tonight I did four bloodless and irritation free passes, two WTG and two ATG. I finished this off with Captain's Choice Nor'Easter, with absolutely no burn. A wonderful shave. Have a wonderful evening, Y'all, or a wonderful day if you are in a different part of the world. Chris - enjoying learning, whatever the subject
Tuesday Shave: Todays test is XTG, XTG2, ATG then WTG. The later was super slick, my Snail Forge razor is sporting a fantastic edge fresh of a refresh and I thought the shave was going to be epic, alas it was only excellent. The BBS did not last long enough but still A+ on irritation and A on closeness.
thank you Chris....while i can't offer advice from a straight razor or se point of view i like to showcase the vintage gillettes..they served millions for generations and deliver fine shaves with today's modern blades and products..
Great shave, Chris! I'm a bit older than many here, and it was my father who fought as a Marine Officer in the Pacific. He never spoke of his time there, but to the end of his days in 2o13 at age 99 refused to buy Japanese products, eat Japanese food, or in fact have anything to do with anything Japanese. People react differently to hard times. My Uncle, my father's brother fought in Europe and was at Bastogne. He once started to talk about his experience once in front of me, until my father told him to shut up! I'm glad your shave went well!
I am an "all of the above" type of guy. My typical daily shave is a Fatboy that was a surprise gift from a vendor when I purchased some shave soaps. I also love open comb razors, which are some of my favorites. Chris - enjoying learning, whatever the subject
