Blackland Blackbird Brass vs Steel showdown with Modern Williams

Prep: Hot Shower and Bloom/Lather Building Water
Soap: Modern Williams
Razor: Blackland Blackbird Brass (OC and SB)/Blackland Blackbird Steel (OC and SB)/Merkur Mustache and Eyebrow Razor
Blade: Personna Lab Blue (1)/Personna Lab Blue (1)/Merkur Mustache and Eyebrow Blade (11)
Brush: Zenith Boar
AS: Aqua Velva (Eur)
ASB: Aqua Velva (Eur)

The lather was creamy and slick, as it should be. Just wonderful.

Now for the comparison pass by pass;
Pass I
Right side: Brass OC
Smooth and efficient
Left side: Steel OC
Smooth and efficient
Thought there was a point the razor wasn't gliding quite right
Reevaluated and it was OHS (Operator Head Space)
The Brass felt heavier, but that was about it.

Pass II
Right Side: Steel SB
Smooth and efficient
Left Side: Brass SB
Smooth and efficient
No difference

Pass III
Right side: Brass SB
Smooth and efficient
Left side: Steel SB
Smooth and efficient
No difference

Conclusion: The brass is heavier.

Williams Wednesday's Shave

The Williams Mug Soap face-lathered well with the Semogue 1305 Boar. Two passes and touch ups with the Wabbit V3 razor with a Personna Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lustray Spice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Fog outside, fire inside: better than the contrary!

Although it is 5° and raining, there is no cold: mysteries of the countryside....
And there are no police checks on who is trespassing from a region to another. Weird... in Italy the application of the laws is always very strict and punctual.

Curiously enough I woke up with a desire for MT: lavender in this season! It is unnatural...
Well, it's a particular lavender: I am justified!

And I enjoyed it very much.

Fascinating Schick H1 - very cool to keep it in use and I wonder what it shaves like - great pic!

 

It's a neat razor. Works quite well. Just ride the cap to keep the angle. I don't find it awkward to use and got a great shave with it. Thank you, Leo!

So, any difference in shave will be on the user and how well the user compensates for the difference in weight. I've found that razor weight can potentially throw me off for up to 3 shaves before my brain stores all of the micro-changes to my shave. I tend to shave a lot on 'feel' and memory. I only seem to focus on technique when a razor is brand new and I want to minimize the nicks and cuts.

Jaco’s soaps are not to be believed - they’re so fabulous! This is the original version of Cool As A Cucumber which I think has a great scent - along with the cucumber I also detect some lily of the valley as well as a bit of avocado and overall it has a great refreshing effect, the lather is so thick, rich, slick, and protective not to mention how skin friendly it is. The Fino balm is unscented, it gives such good soothing, and it moisturizes the skin very well - it’s another South African treasure. The Florida Water smells so nice and it works very well as an aftershave. Today’s shave was super smooth!

That's what it is looking like. The person I did the comparison for, I do hope he wasn't looking for, "The Brass is better," or "The Stainless is better." I can't sit here and justify lying in hopes to make someone happy. Am I wrong? Besides weight, I couldn't tell the difference.
