  1. Looks pretty Decadent to me, Danny. Great shave.
Just remember...Norcalnewb taught us all several years ago to always wear clothes when taking pics of shiny, chromed gear.:scared003:
  2. Haha, thanks Jason! Don't look for much more literary flair from me. A poet I am not. I don't have the clever word play of folks like @Primotenore.
  3. Thanks, Jason!
Doing my usual ten hour workdays this week. Busy but not crazy today. If it stays this way today should be my Friday.

  6. Congrats on finishing another, Joseph. Interesting notes on the vintage Polsilver. Is there any connection to the modern St Pete’s version, save for the name?

Zingari Man SS, ASB, RS - The Wanderer (barbershop)
    Enoch v1.debarred @Terry
    Schick Proline
    BSSW Disco

Wanted what I consider one of my slickest soaps for today's shaves, so....time for the Zingari Man Sego base. Very damp Brad Sears Shave Works 'Super Badger Hybrid' knot, loaded til the soap hits the base where the bristles disappear into the handle. Quite a lather going on in the tub by then, move all the fresh creaminess over to my shaving bowl. Uber lather (without any extra additions) after a good 45-60 seconds of whipping. Clear the knot (ala @Primotenore style) and whip some more. Uber epic lather now, time to paint it on. You know how things seem scarier when you're over thinking it?!?!....that's the brain set as I pick up the modified Enoch to start the first pass. Slight trepidation as I land the blade the first few strokes with nothing but blade exposure. Very soft swipes as I get the feel of the tool, play with the angle up, then down, while pulling on the handle for movement & controlling blade pressure on the skin. First pass completed, no crimson issues, gosh so smooth, save for a couple small patches under shaved . A little more confidence now.....another layer of lather, and went for the XTG pass, out to in. One set down error on the lower right jawline area, felt it, saw crimson mixed in the lather as I rinsed, but didn't see anything on skin. Better reduction all over, but still just a smidge of sandpaper on the jawline troublesome area. Last lather application, XTG opposite direction, in to out. One last little error, too much pressure for the swipe on the neck/jawline transition....and felt a slight burn....and the previous set down error started a very slow growing red dot. Oh well. Not too bad overall, super baby smooth. 3 pumps of ZM's after shave balm rubbed all over followed by an over dosing (always!) of the matching 'Recovery Splash'.

Overall, pleased with the results of the modification and first use. Blade on skin feels like shaving with a full hollow straight razor, albeit obviously with a safety razor handle orientation. In the image, you can see the 3 little bumps where the safety bar was attached. There's some other machining (from manufacturing) going on with complex angles in that area which makes getting the look 'manufacturing perfect' with a handheld Dremel. But...it's all super smooth/polished for now.

And...Zingari Man 'The Wanderer'....an excellent barber shop aroma, pleasant sweetness to it, but not quite as much as Stirling/Proraso/ToBS. Very similar to Noble Otter's BarrBarr. ZM's recovery splash has no alcohol (witch hazel based), lasts all day for me.

Hope everyone has a Terrific Thursday!

The first two iteration are made in Poland and the third and fourth are Russian.
All Wizamet. IMO, all somewhat different in performance.

  11. Awesome first run with the modified Enoch. Very impressive! I feel we need a vaccine for this Terrinitis that is spreading. :D

  19. As Danny said, you’ve been infected with the Terry (@Terry) disease, Terrynitis. There’s only two possible outcomes, mastery or a bloodbath! Your straight shaving experience seems to have you headed down the mastery pathway! Grand Master Terry will, I’m sure, be pleased with another disciple! :D
