  6. Gentlemen, thank you all! I appreciate the encouragement, prayers, and words of wisdom. Today is still kinda busy, but it continues to be a good one. We are blessed, for sure. :)

Jeff and I will finally get to decide whether MWF or Tabac is the winner at the next 30DC meetup! Being loyal to the scientific process, we will resort to a decision by the Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Sock Robots! (Someone please explain this game to @myles wilson.) The jury is still out on whether Jeff is red or blue, but we should know in the next few days. ;)

  9. I got the text that my long overdue package had arrived. I couldn't wait and had to walk to the mailbox. The walk was worth the effort as my Yates M-921 razor with both the M and H plates arrived. @Hembree another razor that I won't need to keep polished.

  20. It's very nice. The 2 story facility is furnished and decorated like being on a cruise ship (the entry is actually modeled after the staircase shown in 'The Titanic' movie with Leonardo de Caprio). The original developer (now with many facilities like this) built it for his aging wife, who had a love for cruise ships. Dining hall much the same, food is still cooked by a chef, served by table waiters. Facility doors hard locked at 7pm to 6am, only keyed entrance allowed during those hours, although anyone can exit. Residents can come and go anytime, but more than half aren't allowed to drive. Lots of electric scooters (it's quite the parking lot at the dining room for lunch). They have in facility barber/beauty shop, church, laundry rooms, movie room, game and rec rooms. Apartments are staff cleaned (including linens) once/week. The home health company has an office with 3 nurses, staffed 6am to 7pm. 55 and older residents. Some are elderly couples, some are children 'caregivers' living with their parents. Facility has 120ish, 400 square foot apartments to 1200 square foot suites. I think there's even a handful of divorced/retired residents in their 50s living alone there just because it's such a good deal (apartment with 3 chef cooked meals/day). From Thanksgiving to New Year's....it's a holiday sight to behold inside. The staff decorates 3 trees in the different areas, as well as all the interior hallways/rooms. One tree is 2 stories tall (in that circular stairway entrance).

The best thing....the company is very COVID 19 literate, precautions abound for the residents & staff. It can go from staff/resident only lockdown (when someone is being/waiting for testing), to allowing visitors by appointment only (with a 2 page questionnaire for every visit) within minutes. It's also 3 miles from our house, in the greater Dallas Fort Worth area, which means there's a monkey barrel of competition with these types of facilities, so it's very reasonably priced for what it is. Dad (or us) would never be able to afford it long term if it was in Louisiana, where I had to move them from.
