@jgreenepa, Jeff, This former preemie is praying for Elena and Ava's healing. @clint64 Praying that you will be fine.
My only knowledge of the R41 head, being that which I've read, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by its ease of use and efficiency. I did ride the cap to find the angle. I do like the B&M Bay Rum, but I may like the Mike's Bay Rum even better. I've been wanting to try one of their soaps, so I figured the Bay Rum was a good place to start. The B&M I have was a purchase from this summer, so I believe it is the excelsior base. It is a thirstier soap than Mike's with an almost gummy feel to it before it is fully hydrated.
gotcha yea no, they did not send me an email for a tracking number, I'll call them up tomorrow to see if I can get some info. no biggie.
The reason Doc Red is so man is that Doc Blue just said "Man, I'm gonna flip those specs right off!".
Thank you Jason ! I agree the bowl is hideous. What's the deal on the Unconditional Surrender? Changing formula?
Thank you, Gary! Thanks, Danny! The under $15 price range is right in my wheelhouse. Your prediction will most likely prove to be correct. Thank you, Perry! Thanks, Joe! Thank you, Jason! I'll really know after a few more shaves whether I have the razor dialed in, or just caught a lucky break. The R41 clone may also find its way onto "my list" if you and Danny have good reviews after using it. Thank you, Clint! You were a large part of the subtle enabling team with this soap purchase. Thank you, Jeff! The R102 is the same as the R41, just with a white handle instead of chrome. Same head. I was really amazed at how much stubble it removed after just one pass. I enjoy using the MMOC as well and I think it may feel more blade forward to me because of its weight and rigid single edge blade.
Tonight's shave is more of the same, though I do try to find a different background for the pictures. 50 laps (each side) on leather, lather with Stirling Christmas Eve (Captain's Choice Nor'Easter is coming but I will do my best to wait for January), and lathered with the boar. An all round enjoyable shave. Chris - enjoying learning, whatever the subject
If you hadn't encountered and reported the scent difference in the excelsior base, I never would have known. So, I will continue to use up my tub through the end. If I am stubborn enough to fight through an entire puck of non-lathering MWF, I sure as heck will do the same with a soap that I can lather with my eyes closed.
Nice!! Glad you are feeling ok today. Just in case there's ever a Spanish embargo in the future, I picked up 4 more La Toja shave sticks this week to go in my strategic reserve stash. Great deal on the 'bay and shipped from Miami.
I didn't know that Wilson had such a rough start to life. That really is a miracle! I can't imagine the emotions you were going through during that time. Happy Birthday, Wilson!
