    • Perry, this is my procedure as well. Following my rinse, I squeegee my face with the edge of my hand, then apply the alum before I add the witch hazel.

    Excellent shave this morning Jason. I find that if put my finger over the opening, turn the bottle totally upside down, then release the finger, the splash comes out much more slowly on the newer PAA bottles.

    good morning gents..back to basics blue collar shave.thouroughly enjoyed the fat crat mini focus.1948 brit flat bottom tech enhanced with the 1950 brit ball end handle for weight and balance and loaded with a 7 oclock black.fabulous vaniglia lather built with the SOC boar.rich and slick.bbs in 3 passes.alt innsbruck to finish.awesome.will do a few tech shaves as they need their legs stretched a bit..hav a fine friday everyone..:cool:

    Welcome to the thread, Dave! Sounds like a few folks know you already.
    Interested in your Terre d'Hermes aftershave. I think I already know the answer to this, but do you feel it is worth getting the original? I am a fan of various dupes, especially L'Orange Noir.
    Sounds like running that 195 wide open really worked for you, Jeff. Congrats.
    I haven't tried a Kai DE blade, but it certainly has its fans as well.
    Great looking hardware, Joe. I love those mug covers. I think the two Reserve scents that B&M nailed are the Spice you referenced today and the Cool. That Spice is pretty darn close to the Shulton, imho.

    What a pic, Joseph! Much the same as others who have already responded, I am a daily witch hazel user as well. A quick cold water rinse and then I spray on some Thayers whilst I rinse and wipe the razor and brush. I say spray, and I keep a glass spray/pump bottle for the purpose. I prefer that to the regular Thayers bottles.
    Awesome. I am a Lavanille fan as well, Jim. Never had the splash, though. I see Fendrihans now how the full lineup of Simpson synthetics (that Petrolhead, CH2, Duke, Trafalgars) available here now. Almost all are listed as sold out at this time, fwiw.

    Thank you, Jason! Sort of a busy day. We're recording some music during class throughout the day with the various groups. We cannot perform indoors at the moment in a concert setting, but we can play in our band room. So we're recording some tunes and will send it out to the students and parents so they can watch it. One of the teachers here has good recording and video equipment and has agreed to edit it and put everything together for us.

    This is where our techniques differ. I splash the Witch Hazel on, then immediate wipe it off with my towel, thus removing all soap residue. Works great.

    My wife is in the same boat, Perry. Band class is fine, performances are banned (feel free to alert our resident purveyor of literary device @Primotenore to my unintended use of a homonym). They've done visual recordings for events like Remembrance Day.
