    Welcome.

In the beginning, minimal pressure. Low blade angle. Stretch the skin. Avoid gear changing. 3 to 4 shaves per blade, max.

    Have fun.

Welcome aboard. What gear you have is a good start. The only beginner advice I can give is if you were using carts prior you'll have to learn to use a different angle and pressure applied. It is easy to mash the blade into the face like with a cart but unlike a cart depending the DE razor it will punish you for shaving that way so take time to unlearn doing that work out the correct pressure applied. As far as angle start cap almost flat to the face then angle it in until you find what works best for your razor and blade combo. That is called a shallow angle and usually makes for a mild shave feel. The more you angle it the steeper the angle will be with some razors allowing for the blade to be perpendicular to the face. Steeper the angle the more aggressive a DE razor will shave in most cases. It is a process but a rewarding one if you stick with it.

Thanks for the welcome and advice! I watched some YouTube videos on the procedure and since I had 2 days growth I decided to try my first shave using the brush, soap and new Wilkinson twist to open razor and it came out fantastic! I managed to get a nice lather with the soap and did 2 passes with the razor with just a couple of small nicks. Finished off with some Skin Bracer after shave. I have yet to have a shave this good in my life! I've also ordered a couple of vintage Gillette 3 piece razors and can't wait to give them a try after cleaning and sanitizing them! Definite convert here!
