  6. Thanks Joseph!

Sincerely appreciated Dave! The bowl is from Symmetrical Pottery, *tsy store. Haven't looked lately, but they usually have a good number of pre-made shave bowls, but you can also customize colors/textures/bowl dots design. I opted for a custom, bumps only on the bottom, as most of the pre-made options back when I ordered had bumps on the entire inside of the bowl. A little of a wait, but worth it for the the quality. Several others here have other very nice examples of SP's work.

2nd day with the Goodwill. Evan's Gold Plating job is excellent. The Goodwill is a great razor, and now has the topcoat to match.
3 easy passes this morning and I am almost perfectly smooth without any buffing or chasing. Just a little bit of minor sandpaper on my right neck and I had to hunt to find it. Love this Brut dupe and the CK6 base works well for me. On the @Keithmax scale? Epic.
On a personal note, I am using up some of my accumulated vacation time over the next week and a half, which will enable me to match my wife and kids Christmas break from school. Today is my last work day (hopefully) for a few weeks as there are a couple stat holidays thrown in as well. Ironically, I'll have more time to post and read (hopefully) but will probably skip as shave day here or there.
    Have a great day all!
  11. Tuggy on the first, Danny! Dang!! You and @Terry appear to share the same gene for Kevlar whiskers! ;) I’ve only experienced tugging with those blades at the end of their life cycle. You might try riding the bar! That worked beautifully for me with that razor. :)

    MWF~~Rubberset 400/3~~Wostenholm~~Vintage Eau Sauvage
Seemed like a great day to use the MWF.
Face-lathered "The Fat" with the above-pictured Rubberset. (I was careful to remove the toothbrush from the
    foreground)
With a newly tightened hinge-pin (thanks for the encouragement @jgreenepa )
I had an easier time stropping, never feeling the blade was going to fling around and sever a finger.
Nice 'n easy three pass shave and some cleanup work, resulted in a DFS+ shave---sans blood.
First outing with the just-received-last-evening bottle of Christian Dior Eau Sauvage.
    Me likey this juice.
    Awaiting the SWMBOSOA©

  13. Love the Christmas themed image Jason, keep forgetting to do that... Great looking everything, Evan's plating looks awesome, always enjoy seeing that BRM and Et Tu! Enjoy the time off!

  14. Great shave, Jason! Love that brush handle! It’s always fun to spend Christmas with family! That’s the one thing I’ll really miss this year. We usually have 17-18 for Christmas dinner. This year it looks like it will be only 9! At least I won’t have to deal with SWMBO’s last minute anxiety about dinner prep. She teases me that she ended up marrying into a clan when we got together. She only had one child and he’s remained single. :(

  16. at the cost of these vintage ones I sure hope I get more than four shaves out of them. Where do you source any modern ones that you may get besides Japan which is also pricey?
JACarbone, Hembree, clint64 and 4 others like this.
  17. Thanks Blair, I figured it was a symmetrical pottery bowl as I've seen them before and they are gorgeous works of art. I'm mostly a face lather but every time I see one it makes me want to be a bowl lather and get one LOL

  18. Schick Twinjectors are still made new in Japan. That’s where I’ve been buying them. :)

  20. The vintage ones do come up on the Bay. I’ve found the Japan-sourced ones cheaper when bought in bulk! It’s just a pain waiting on the shipping during these plague times!
