First use of the Barbasol Floating Head and color me impressed. I get the enthusiasm behind this razor now, well built, solid in hand feel, easy shaving angle, incredibly smooth shaving w/awesome blade feel, great aesthetics. First pass, WTG, I could tell this was gonna be nice....barely anything left for a second pass, save for the ever troublesome lower right jawline/upper neck transition. Figured I give it my ultimate test, a direct ATG pass on that area, just barely touching/skimming the surface (that's loaded with shave cream). Normally, most times with this pass, using the DEs or SEs I've tried with just about any blades, it seems I can feel nearly every shaft being tugged then cut as the blades' edge tries to do it's work. My growth must really lay flat there (never grown it out, so hard to know really). Sometimes it's razor burn city on this pass if I forget to monitor pressure on the device. Pleasantly surprised today....maybe there's a developed muscle memory or technique I've slightly mastered, but the ATG pass was not as tuggy or irritation prone as I'm used to. I'd almost call it a smooth pull. Third pass, XTG out to in, much the same, very smooth w/lots of blade engagement & feel. One corner of the mouth dot. Zero feedback from the slightly mentholated PAA Star Jelly, followed with a hefty dose of a favorite fragrance, PAA's Atmotic.
Lather....thought I'd show how my bowl overflowing, lather slinging fun sessions are turning out now. Been eyeing
@Primotenore's lather shots and tutorials, as well as a bunch of you other 30DC'rs lather images. Here's mine today, knot cleared by using the bowl edge, slight re-swirling of what's left in the bowl/brush,
after four face lathers (the last being one that just sits on the face as I rinse the tools). Lather is still very peaky, nicely dense like sour cream, although barely on the wet side. Almost a shame to rinse everything off...
