Just dropping in a quick catchup. I am still testing the order of passes and will give a write up later this week.
Saturday: I did 5 passes with my Drew Dick 6/8 smiling razor. The passes were in my traditional order, WTG, XTG, XTG(2), ATG, WTG. I recently ordered some new soaps to try one of which is Turtleship Patchouli. I picked this soap because of the names relationship to Korea, surprisingly the soap's website makes not mention of it. Turtle ships were used by one of Korea's most famous heroes, Admiral Yi. Admiral Yi used Turtleships to defeat the Japanese Navy in 1592 and for several years.

The scent is a very nice patchouli so I went all out on the scent including SMN patchouli after shave and finished off with Patchouli Impéirial. On top of smelling great the shave was epic, irritation A+, closeness A+
Sunday's shave was executed with PRC Chimera, a 6/8 western grind and my first use of Trumpers cream, which smelled fantastic. I did the traditional 3 pass shave, WTG, XTG, ATG. The cream performed nicely just like it's British cousins and the mammoth Polo 12 make enough lather for at least another 3 passes. While there was zero irritation the closeness rating was A-.

Monday's shave: Today a new item the den made it's first test appearance, the Chinese SS clone of the R41. Comparing it to my 2011 R41 it seems that cap is larger making it seem closer to the newer R41 version. The razor is hefty and aggressive but there was even more blade chatter and flex than in my 2011 R41, she will need a couple more rounds before I make a decision. I did the started, for me, 4 passes and the results were A,A-.
