December 30 Day Rule/Focus Pix & Discussion

I guage my blades in such a way that I toss them when I feel that the next shave isn't going to go well. On shavettes, I stop at 5 or 6 shaves unless it is the Hairshaper, then it is 10 shaves. Blades are cheap! Why push another shave with an almost spent blade and risk getting a bad shave?

Menthol Monday....have no idea how ZM's 'The Socialite' compares to CF's 'Cryogen'......but this mentholated gin & lime w/ice shaving soap gives me quite the upfront and bold but pleasant frozen face feel while shaving. It's very different than my only other mentholated shaving soap, Proraso Green....which is barely a blip on the mentholated skin surface feel, with more of a slight 'burn', and gives off a 'Vick's Vaporub' aroma. Excellent bowl lather whipped by the Zenith synthetic, which is very stiff with backbone compared to Omega's EVO or Simpson's synthetics. ZM's Sego base creates a very slick & thick lather, loves hydration along with a thorough whipping session. This mirror polished Rigarazor also went through last Friday's refresh routine......almost back how it's delivered from Sergej with a first use Feather HS blade edge quality. Set downs and shaving with this beauty require a very light touch despite it's heft and blade size. One set down error under the nose was an instant reminder....no worries, just a small dot overall. 3 full passes, dolphin smooth results. Hefty slathering of the matching Recovery Splash keeps the bold frozen face feel going for well over an hour after the shave. The Socialite's aroma notes are spot on, lots of citrusy lime with the gin & tonic vibe. The zesty fragrance from this witch hazel based splash lasts a few hours on my skin, better than most citrus forward fragrances.

A nice cool menthol shave today on head and face . Heated my lather ala coffee mug of hot water under bowl. Probably 5 good days growth on head and a few days of tough face stubble that had to go. I opted for a new blade to complete the task as to avoid any problems during mid shave . Procured a new bottle of witch hazel the other day as well. Couldn't get the regular formula anymore so I took the new formula with eucalyptus and menthol. Who says I resist change ??
The later was amazing and the shave went well. Been practicing my bowl lathering skills for my next rematch with the MWF. Enjoy your day guys !

 

Just exactly Joe. At one time I tried to push mine but not anymore. Some I get 2 shaves and some 12 .
