I traded away my Vorschlaghammer years ago when I started getting into adjustables. I just got one again from Pasteur's online shop. I am amazed at how easy and smooth this shave of 4 days growth was! This razor is top three at least for me. The heft makes it easy to avoid using too much pressure, and there is less blade feel than I get with the Model T. This is a keeper.

MMMonday, Dec 21st 2020- Today using one of the Micromatic family of razors- ASR Everready 1914, mid range excellent razor.

Razor: Everready 1914 (AKA little lather catcher), 1st generation blade stops. MFG 1914-17, mid range, excellent razor with great audio feedback.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(4) excellent blade, Very sharp with great longevity and smooths out nicely & predictable.
Soap: Nivea sensitive skin cream, great shave cream, very nice scent, with great lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Yuxedo knot 24mm with black marble handle. Excellent lather creator + cloud like soft tips, nice scrubber with some back bone.
Pre shave: Brush wash my face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of Aloe Vera gel on cleaned beard area.
Prep: cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave: Nivea refreshing aftershave + a dollop of Nivea balm.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = Excellent shave with my ER 1914 + Gem coated blade.

I just picked this cream up at a Ross store Saturday and after using this morning for the first time I wish they would have had more. The scent is great and, knowing now that I loaded to much in my brush, there were mountains of lather. This will be a great warm weather cream.

Razor set at 5. What a difference a blade makes and not in a good way in this case. Shave was much milder and with no weepers than with a Schick blade on the same setting. Overall closeness wasn't even close with a less than BBS finish. This razor is definitely a blade dependent razor and requires a sharp blade to get the most out of it. Razor is a keeper and high performer but only with Schick injector blades. Maybe that might change if you have fine and non coarse hair but that I can't test on my face.
