  7. I couldn't agree more, Danny. The fees and manufacturer kickbacks complicate the transaction, create confusion, and are intended to put the buyer at a disadvantage. I questioned everything. If it was a truly fair transaction, a car would have a sales price inclusive of everything except tax and licensing, and there would be no kickbacks.

Last new car I purchased in 2013:

As I recall, I paid a simple $150 fee at our local family used car lot for the other car. That seemed fair.

It's doubtful I'll ever purchase another new car. Not a fan. :)
  8. I am glad that I lived in NY my whole life except 2 months in Berkley, California. I am experienced in driving in blizzards.

  12. My last truck I bought used from a Ford dealership in a small town north of here. They only charge $89.00 for a doc fee. I like dealing with them better than these large dealership in town plus their sales tax is cheaper.

  13. Happy Anniversary, Joe. I'm really glad you landed here. You're always helpful and encouraging, and it is a pleasure to read your posts. I'm thankful for your friendship.

Far be it from me to bring up that one little mishap. Thankfully, you kept your finger and your CT.

  14. I took it as a serious question and answered it appropriately. Shaving above-the-shoulder for 11+ years helps me to determine how much juice is needed to cover the entire area.

  15. i think the charges stem from overhead costs.they differ from dealer to dealer in many cases..some dealers are just greedy also..

  16. I think that would be overkill. Lol!

  17. I only had bought one new car in my lifetime. I always bought used. New cars are very expensive and the depreciation makes it a double whammy.

  18. Thank you, Charlie! I appreciate your friendship and being a fellow brother in the Lord very special.
