thank you Dave.the flat bottom new is an open comb version of the british flat bottom tech.based on the 7 oclock /nacet razor that gillette england purchased.great shave.I find the RFB a little smoother and more efficient.just my opinion of course.
Thanks Gary I tend to agree. Never had the flat bottom tech before although I've had the two piece and three piece raised flat bottom as well as a Nacet razor before. I should never have gotten rid of the three-piece raised flat bottom but we all make mistakes......
Great Shave and pic Gary. Have you seen the new 2020 Gillette Tech? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32945824791.html
thank you Jim.very cool.it's still based on the 1962 ish and newer tech design base/plate/cap.probably shaves similar..
love my 2 piece brit new rfb's.i do like the 3 piece versions a little better as the later ones are nickel plated and not silver plated.a little less maintenance..
my newest custom.just a cosmetic upgrade 1969 brit tech.mid 60s french cap with engraved logo and early 60s brit handle-brass/nickel plate 1/4 inch shorter than the 1969 handle.there is no difference in shave quality albeit the slightly shorter handle.the french cap razor had an aluminum handle. the cool part is i had all these laying around and these later techs ae all interchangeable..i'll now pic out a cool case and use this in rotation..more fun than being a purist..
Used my 1951 tech for the first time and also the first time I did a 3 pass shave since I started using a DE razor almost 4 weeks ago. Very very nice indeed! Only one "Japanese Flag" above my lip.
