    Sorry to hear about the rough shaves, Evan, but heck, you’ve really been through the ringer lately. Almost losing a child will throw any caring parent off their game! It’s great that she’s ok! On the other topic, both the Proguard and Softguard blades are every bit as sharp as a regular Feather AC blade. The guard component just makes it pretty difficult to slice or experience a set down error as you get up to speed on the DX. I used Proguards in my DX until I got up to speed with it. I use Feather Supers in it now. I really love mine! Enjoy your day! :cool:

    Picked up a Con Rad razor cheap on the bay last night. I have never noticed this brand before but the handle is what drawn me to the little razor. It is a two piece design and the head looks like an OT Gillette. It has a few bent teeth but I think my dental plan can take care of those. A little love and polish and I think it will make a pretty little razor.

    Nice shave, Jim! The machine or satin finish looks decent, although as I remember you had some initial reservations about the finish when you first acquired it. It definitely doesn’t meet the Jim shiny criterion! Enjoy your day! :D

    The Rocnel has a very nice satin finish. The disappointment was with the finish on the Seygus Zeppelin. I finally decided to keep it. I don't have another razor that feels so solid going against the grain.

    Great Gibbs shave, Dave! Your #15 is in good external condition. I have two, a 15 and a 17, and have always nipped my blades by eye. Oh, well, precision is the way to go. I’ve still managed excellent shaves with them. Enjoy your day and stay safe! :)

    I've wondered the same thing, Gary. You can't expect them to tell you the truth either. And yeah...same here with the skinny jeans. Plus, they look silly on people over 50. :)
