Thanks Jeff. You've talked me into it. Right now I'm in a very rare, and very temporary spending shock where I just spent a bunch of money, and I'm trying not to buy anything I don't really need... Wait, I'm over it. I'll order some proguard blades in January.
Thanks Joe Thanks Evan, Sent the link to Frugal Shave on Etsy he quoted me $15 shipped for 30 (Wanted to make it worth his while) so I've shared some with others. Some real classics there and I've already got 2 more soaps coming that fell under the "No longer available" so HAD to get it.............
Great results and commentary Paul! Your descriptions make me want to watch Tombstone or Dances with Wolves everyday....
Mail call from the house of Jim @jluc. Jim shipped this package out on the 27th of November and it just made it in. Jim was nice and throwed in a few extras beside the razor. A full tub of Simpson Shaving Cream and a few Barrister and Mann aftershave samples. I was thinking that the razor had the halo handle but I was mistaken. It has the Razorock bulldog handle. This will give me a matching set of Hawks...one with a SB and one with an OC. I did notice the instructions on the bottom if the Simpson soap. It says to use a Simpson Shaving Brush. Now I need a Simpson Brush. Thanks Jim for the extras and for letting the Hawk go. It is much appreciated.
I've got a Feather ProGuard container with 5 or so blades, hard to count the little buggers in that itty bitty container. Just taking up space as I no longer use. Want it?
Good on ya Jim and WOW, Danny's an easier enabled guy than me....................................gotta go tell my wife.
That's funny. I completely understand. It took him 5 minutes or so to prep the job and it was the same amount of work making 2 as it was to make 30. The print took longer, but I'm sure he moved on to other things. He's not getting rich. That's for sure. BTW, I have a batch of 30 running right now. Now I need to find a Gibbs razor. I mean, I have these inserts and they can't go to waste.
I was really starting to wonder if the razor would ever get there. I'm still thinking that it sat on a truck in Denver for weeks. Simpson sends a tin of the shave cream with the brushes. I haven't gotten around to trying it yet. I have two more that haven't been opened. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Here, let me help. Not as good a shape and replacement handles are available. Just use that as your leverage and talk him down like the car dealer https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rasoir-GIB...GIBBS-15-adjustable-safety-razor/264981079880 Best bet is to search and include France eBay as it 's a French rasoir
As long as it's not too much effort putting it in the mail, that would be awesome. I doubt I'll need more than 3 or 4. I'm just looking to get the feel of the razor without slicing myself up.
I'm 99.9% sure I could make a handle. In fact, I'm 100% sure. I've PM'd ebay sellers and gotten them to lower their prices before. But generally, I don't have enough destain for the profession to beat them up too bad. You're not a used car salesman, are you? If you are I'm sure you're the exception. Edit: That would be really odd for me to say a $15 pack of blades needs to wait for January then spend $100 on a razor. Let me ask @jluc. Jim any opinions? Maybe I need to take some Ambien. I'm somewhat sure I'll hunt for one in a few months. Thanks for the tips. Near term I have brushes to make.
No I'm not but have always enjoyed working the deal with one and enjoyed reading your fun day. I was going to say something but you intimidate me
@MrEE There's a Gentlemen in South Africa that does some all brass handles that are longer so come with an extension. I just prefer the original handle for now but have the Brass spare too.
Mhm... (blank emotionless stare without blinking and alternating focus between you and the distant background and the occasional clinched jaw. Slow sigh and) Okay than. moving on.
