Thank you Blair.....I'm trying to cut down on the wording, as the shave plan itself is always the same, but the results can differ. Then again, it always provides for good creative writing practice.
December Focus Valobra Fougère~~Simpson CH2~~Gustave Lalune 6/8~~Paco Rabanne Pour Homme Very early to work and decided to shave when I got home. Valobra Fougère, same company that made the tallow AoS and Czech & Speake soaps, was my choice. Very powerful aromatic soap, that is very easy to lather: New razor today, thanks to the closet-enabler Bill @Edison Carter Found this Gustave Lalune for an excellent price. French, drop steel forged and you will notice the front of the blade is wider than the rear. This one appears to be a full-hollow ground and has olive wood scales. I simply stropped it and went for the shave. Wonderfully, keen edge, and very buttery. Kept it simple for the first time, but nonetheless got great results. After the Witch Hazel cleaning, I finished with another aromatic fougère, this one from 1973 Paco Rabanne Pour Homme EdT. Here are the fragrance notes, for those interested: I was fortunate to find this NOS vintage bottle. Outstanding juice.
tIt's hard for me to imagine doing ATG on anywhere other than the jawline. Course the exception is the "downward ATG" you introduced me to (top of neck angling down).
That is the longest I have ever waiting on a package that was shipped in the US. I knew it would finally get here....just did not know when though. I'll probably give the soap a try later on this week. Looking forward to giving the RRHV3OC a run. Thanks again Jim.
Please don't change your prose on account of my commentary Paul! Always a fun read. That's an awesome razor and repor.....wait, Paco Rabonne made a Fougère?
Here's a fun fact, Danny. I got this razor from a fellow in Puerto Rico in about 5 days. I am STILL waiting on a shave brush from Iowa, which was sent on the 12th.
I got great shaves from the V3 OC. No blood, no irritation. I just didn't care for the face feel. Kinda harsh to me. I hope you enjoy it more than I did. Jason seems to really likes his. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
I really enjoyed the shave that the solid bar gave me this morning. I just need to dial it in a little more. It will be interesting to see how the two compare.
Thanks Blair. Both Lee and Wrangler are good, and we get great deals on those brands at an outlet mall. Many moons ago, it was Levi's. They're not made as well these days and are way overpriced. They even eliminated a belt loop in the back to save a couple of nickels. I'm the old guy that wants to buy full-cut sturdy jeans that look new. I'll fade 'em and rip 'em myself, thanks very much. Don't short me on belt loops, either! It's always a treat to see your beautiful shave gear so artfully photographed, Blair. Merry Christmas to you and your family!
