how similar do you find the scents of stirling spice and old spice classic?

I have a sample of stirling spice and I love old spice classic cologne, but the two don’t smell anything alike to my nose...

The Stirling Spice is more of the older Shulton formula. A bit more bass if you know what I mean. Proctor and Gamble changed the Old Spice formula not because of cost, but due to some of the ingredients being a bit of an issue with some laws about fragrance ingredients. (Asthma and Irritation)

Now, as far as over all, I find them exactly the same to my nose. I can't sit here and tell you if I was blindfolded I could tell the difference between Stirling/Shulton/P&G USA Version/P&G European Version/P&G Indian Version/(Put Artisan Here)

I'm not going to lie. If I could time travel I'd purchase every Shulton Old Spice Shave Soap/AS/EdC/Talc I could get a hold of. That and Williams Pucks.

Thanks for the response! I have to wonder if there is something amiss with my sample of Stirling Spice. Sometimes my nose can smell strange things, but even my wife found that they were very different scents - certainly not "exactly the same" as you say. I didn't know the original Shulton Old Spice, but the newer Classic Old Spice has become on of my go-to colognes (especially considering the price!).

    Thanks again

My wife checks everything on Ebay for prices of everything I bring home when I go on leave. In her opinion I am to only use Old Spice AS/EdC and Williams Mug Soap. The rest either go on the "shelf" for collection and presentation or is to be sold. I can't complain. She has flipped a lot of stuff for good money.

Also, you have to realize the thing about the Stirling Spice shave soap. Soap is horrible way of scenting. So many variables are involved, I really don't know how the artisans can keep the products as uniform as they do.

Yeah, I have to agree - soap is not always the best way to test a scent. Maybe I should grab an AS sample with my next order...

    Merry Christmas my Stirling brothers.
I’m visiting family, so I’m keeping my gear list short..........Merkur 34C, Omega Mighty Midget, and CHRISTMAS EVE soap, splash, and balm. How could I possibly use any other scent?! It’s been fantastic, as I already knew it would be. I’ll retire it in a few days so it retains is magic for next Christmas.

Enjoy time with family, and drive safely. :)

Added to the collection this Christmas. My brother-in-law, a fellow Threat Level Midnight fan, bought me the Scarn soap, splash, and EdP.

Many months ago I had a vendor accidentally ship me a sample of Strawberry Bubbly, and I threw it on the shelf and never touched it... until this evening.

I was trying to think of a fitting Stirling soap to ring in the new year, and decided that a soap named after champagne would fit the bill nicely!

My wife and I both had a good laugh about it, and the scent really wasn’t all that bad (though we both agreed that it would smell much better on her!).

Anyhow, just thought I’d share a Stirling related laugh as we say goodbye to a year that could use a few extra laughs!

    Happy New Years!

I think I remarked to someone in the Exchange that it sounds like Coniferous on steroids.

Coniferous is already on steroids.........freshly clobbered trees and dirt.........like crashing a dirt bike on tree farm. Christmas Eve is a MUCH more complex scent, and while there’s a definite evergreen component, it’s quite literally what the home of a well celebrated Christmas smells like. It’s so spot-on that I can’t/won’t use it until I’m ready to start the Christmas season.
