Last night's shave was particularly good, using two new items purchased from Captain's Choice; a tub of Nor'Easter shave soap and a standard copper lather bowl. I used a Solingen razor, boar brush, and Captain's Choice Nor'Easter as well. It was a great way to end the work day. Chris - enjoying learning, whatever the subject
This Kropp has been among my favorites. I picked it up for a shave a few weeks ago and noticed an ugly dark spot on both sides of the bevel. Yup, my fingernail caught on the edges and under the loupe it was nasty. It measured just over a mm in length. Arghh! I lightly oil my razors after wiping down the blades and dry the insides of my scales (thanks to @Drygulch who used to frequent this forum.) Possibly internal corrosion, who knows? What I did know was that it had to be looked at and rehoned if salvageable. So, off to @gssixgun it went. Incredibly it only lost a miniscule amount of steel and still measures a full 7/8ths. I got it back and it was today’s shave. Still a wonderful razor and a brand new bevel to boot.
