  1. Just gorgeous Blair. Did the peppermint provide a cooling sensation to the lather?

    Schick E2
    Schick Blade
    Mozingo Brushworks
    B&M Bay Rum Shaving Soap
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Grand Bay, Bay Rum Aftershave

Sticking with the same Bay Rum theme as yesterday, I switched to the B&M interpretation today. Although the Pimenta Racemosa may not be as potent in this version (investigated and identified by the intuitive @Primotenore ), it is still a very pleasant smelling soap.

2 easy passes with the Schick E2 provided a comfortable and efficient result this morning with no irritation or mishaps.

I wish all of you here on the 30DC, as well as your families, a very Merry Christmas!

I have had a very restful day. I even managed to put off the shower and shave until 3pm. I decided to go with one of my all-time favorite soaps, MdC original. This soap just flat works for me. I love the medicinal lavender scent that fills the room. While its not my best soap in any one category, I always get wonderful shaves whenever I use MdC. Maybe that's because I did my first 30 day rule with this soap. Three passes and touch ups ended in a perfect drama free BBS shave. A splash of Agua Balsamica and I am ready for steak dinner with the family. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas Eve with their family and friends.
  7. awsome shave and pic Blair,Happy Christmas..

  10. I have never tried SV soaps and I am sure they are great, but I can understand why folks can't get there head around paying top dollar for it. Personally, I don't take flyers on top tier soaps unless a few excellent reviews from trusted folks appear. I got burned by Gentlemen's Nod Zaharoff's Signature soap because I was told that it was a strong cologne scent. In my book, it wasn't the case. Again, I may have had a bad batch and the price was in the mid to upper 20's which is not what I normally would spend on a puck. I know that I would never spend 70+ for any Martin De Candre soap. Nevertheless, I am not opposed to buying a top tier soap, but I want my money's worth. Scent strength and type is most important to me. I don't worry about performance because nearly every soap does what it is supposed to do.
  11. Very nice rfb Tech, Gary. Congrats on the LEA shave as well, it has been getting rave reviews on here lately.

  13. if you do the math..;).if you change your own oil on the hotrod and buy a drum.you will be spending less per quart than buying every time in small containers.

  17. Thank you for the nice words, Gentlemen.
A much quieter day today. Actually got thru the past 4 days of posts since last night. Not able to respond accordingly to everything, but this morning’s posts seem like a good point to jump back in.
  18. Nice, nice shave Blair! I think you are used to large razors that the kami feels strange. I know that is the way it is for me. I wanted to try TOBS peppermint soap, but read that it isn't too strong. WSP peppermint sounds very nice, but the small tin containers turns me off .
