Thanks Jason! It's the most appropriate soap for today. I will be using it on Saturday with Max. This scent is really awesome that I will be using it more frequently throughout the year.
Thanks Clint, appreciated! I didn't get any cooling off the lather. The AS was pretty intense cooling and nostril opening, but faded very quickly, ~3-4 minutes. . At first I thought it may be mentholated, but I'm guessing it was the general side effect of the Peppermint itself. Very nice Bay Rum setup Andrew. Great image also! Merry Christmas! Thank you Jason! Wifey started collecting little Christmas/Holiday village buildings and whatnot. It's something my mother and grandmother did long ago. Wifey picked up the tradition on her own after my mom passed away. Next year she's already planning to turn our coffee table into a Christmas village complete with landscaping, wants me to dig out my childhood trainset. Who am I to say no. If momma's happy....everyone's happy! Gorgeous Clint! Merry Christmas!
Beautiful birthday shave, my friend. Merry Christmas to you and your whole family. Regarding the MdC, you could do 10+ 30day rules with that soap!
Thanks, Danny! Yes, this is the brush. John did a beautiful job on it. Merry Christmas! Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
Very good descriptions of some great products, Joseph. I join you in missing Tim as well. Btw- what is up with the top on that splash! That thing is massive...cork and resin?
Thank you Joseph. MdC has a high upfront costs but is really much cheaper than most all artisan soaps on a per shave basis.
Thank you Blair. My wife gave me AOS Peppermint shave cream one year and the peppermint was strong enough to give a chill like it had menthol. Sounds like the WSP soap and aftershave is a winner. Did you get the bath soap as well?
Not to play the devil's advocate, but what smells strong to someone's nose, doesn't guarantee that your nose will agree. The olfactory system is a fickle beast. Just look how Jeff reacts to Tabac! Rimshot!
I understand that you buy bulk and save money. I prefer 6 tubs of Stirling ( six different scents and approximately 36 oz at $80) then one container of Martin de Candre for $75.
That is true, but I have to follow my personal guidelines so as to minimize getting caught in the marketing hype of shaving soaps.
SV's scents are not strong, but they are quite different and complex. Soap lather quality in every regard is top notch imo. I would point out that my two examples are the Beta 4.3 formulation. I'll admit to being a 'frag head' like @Primotenore outed by @Keithmax a couple days back....but, I think many of us here I think are, just a little bit of the nature of the hobby.
This "splash" is actually an extract de parfum, which is the most concentrated of all "perfumes". The caps are unique to the bottles, which I find gorgeous. I am really taken with this "niche" house and have 3 bottles, with two on the way. The scents are intense and have an amazing longevity. IMO, they are THE niche house on the world of perfumery.
Thanks, Jason! I'll be using the new brush for at least the next couple of shaves. Merry Christmas! Sent from my SM-T510 using Tapatalk
Glad you had a restful day, Clint. You’ve been going full out and you need a few days. That Paladin never ceases to amaze and I think you polished up that Supply some. Enjoy the dinner with Swati and the girls, if they are there too.
