    Hey Friends,

Merry Christmas to all of you :santa:santa:santa

Here my Shave of the Day, Saturday 26.12.2020

    1608914600045.jpg
Razor: Wacker Allround 6/8 // Soap: Soap Commander Fortitude // Brush: RazoRock 400 // Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman // Music: Bing. Crosby - Bing Crosby Christmas

My very first Wacker and my maiden voyage shave today. I gifted the Wacker to myself for Christmas. It arrived on 23.12, so i was happy that it came before Christmas.

The Wacker was shave-ready. Not more. You can shave whiskers off, but it was not a big pleasure. Sometimes it felt rough, especially against the grain.

I got the tip, to do smaller strokes instead of wider strokes, so i will try this the next time.

Optically the Wacker is a pure beauty. It is like a "Jade" Heft. Looks and feels fantastic. The Brush was giftet to me from my Mom. Beautiful and makes great great lather.

So, i don't know what to write more

Enjoy your shaves, take care, stay safe and stay healthy.

    Greetings
    Thorsten

SOTD, Sat, Dec 26th 2020, Boxing day starts and some folks go a little crazy on sale hunting who have the means.

Razor : AC Kai type shavette clone - seems like a well built shavette AC clone, not as good as stainless for lasting, But will not break the bank to see if using a shavette is a nice shaving experience.
Blade: Kai Protouch guard AC (2) A very nice blade to learn with IMO, very smooth and a little more care free shave using these blades.
Soap: Speick stick- nice mild scent with a some spices and great lather qualities for the first time using.
Brush: Yaqi Evil Zebra 26 mm knot, excellent lather creator with cloud like soft tips and a nice gentle scrubber if that's what fellow wants.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on cleaned beard area.
Prep : cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups. (getting use to this new way of shaving)
Post shave: Razorock King Louis Lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of Nivea balm.
Results: CCS,DFS,bBS + no irritation + 2 small blemish weepers = [IMG] Great shave with this Kai style AC shavette with a Kai protouch guard blade.

    Christmas SOTD:

    Razor: Smart Helix Apollo Light
    Brush: ATT Synbad 28mm
Soap & Aftershave: Black Ship Peg Leg Nichols
    AS Balm: B&M Terror
    Blade: Feather

I finally got around to using my shaving related Christmas presents this evening as the last 48 hours have been a maelstrom of activity.

The Apollo was recommended to me by a couple of people and, after watching a You Tube review, it was clear that this would make the perfect Christmas present from my wife.

I started with the aggressive plate and it took down 7 days of stubble with ease and felt pretty smooth in the process. I then moved to the mild plate for the second pass and it was incredibly smooth. Based upon my first use, it seems as though this razor is up there with the Raw RS-10 and Rocnel Elite in terms of smoothness.

I’m a big lover of Black Ship soaps and only tried the aftershave splash for the first time when this set arrived (it was also a present along with the soap). I’ve never been a great lover of splashes or EDT’s, however, I must say that I do enjoy the menthol kick this splash gives, and I can see myself exploring some mentholated splashes in due course.

I really like using menthol and usually will include it somewhere in most shaves (either at one, or all, of the pre-shave, soap or ASB stages) and following the splash up with B&M’s Terror seemed like a natural progression.

All in all, this was a great shave that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Have a great rest of the Christmas Bank Holiday weekend guys.
