well, I'll consider it a close call. Here's where I have difficulty with double-negatories, and why I thought I had a good one. Many reviewers of shave soaps will say "You will not be disappointed". Does that mean we will be appointed with the shave soap? I know....I know...sounds silly, but it would be nice if the reviewers would say something more positive, like "You'll be pleased with your purchase".
Nice report and Mad Max shave Joe! Thanks so much Joe! I have been pleasantly surprised with the brush...it was a take from the 2020 TSD Traveling Shave Box earlier this year. Sincerely appreciated Dave! I just had to fiddle with the AC DX from it's original form...the scales didn't really add anything for me. Loosen pivot screw, remove scales, wrap with leather cord to cover the hole in the handle... = fun razor. Thanks Joe! It's a shirt arranged as a backdrop, garage work table with 3 LED shop lights directly above (reflection on the brush handle). iPhone camera.
Thank you, Danny! I know your kidding, but once you master straight shaving, there's nothing else like it. Shaving with Mad Max, @Keithmax Keith's arsenal and @b1hart Blair's big guns takes it to another level
Thanks, Danny! I’m enjoying it! I've touched up all my razors. My shave this morning was great! That 12k stone and a strop are all one really needs to maintain an edge forever! So if one is willing to leave the bevel setting to others; they’re set! I also enjoy setting a bevel.

Good for you, Joe! That 1k stone is perfect for bevel setting, and the 400 is great for edge repair. I’ve not used diamond plates for honing, only water stones, Naniwa and Shaptons and my jasper stone. Itks not a difficult process, one heck of a lot easier than knife sharpening.
I may reach out to you to pick your brain regarding the honing process via a PM. I am thinking of getting a Gold Dollar to practice on.

Dropping in for a quick posts Sunday Shave: CF with a little liquid lanolin thrown it always works great with the Kent BK-8. The Atlas razor is a JWest 6/8 near wedge, it took me a couple of tries to get the edge write but now it is in exceptional shape. Did my normal 4 passes and then added a fifth, WTG pass for the win, an epic shave. Wrapped it with by Killian, A Taste of Heaven. Monday Shave: Testing out the DsCosmetic ZO, stainless steel R41 clone. I compared it to my 2011 R41 and the base cap is bigger on the ZO, so I assume it is a clone of the 2013 model. The finishing is nice and I do like the extra heft. I loaded it with a fresh Super Iridium, my blade of choice for the 2011 R41. If feels like a little more blade chatter than my 2011 and the shave felt a little rougher.... but.... the results were outstanding and no irritation after the 4 pass shave. Vintage Derby AS and the few shots of Modern Derby and I am off to work.
Dollar Tree!!! I got a fine shave from my Dollar Tree razor too. Not bad in a pinch. Nice shave, Joe.
