Great Carbon shave, Dave! Sorry it wasn’t as close as you like! I’ll follow your shave with the 1.08 with interest!
Thanks Jeff, yesterdays with the .71 wasn't close enough. Today's with the .88 and more exposure was PERFECTLY close
Monday 28, 2020 Shave Got a lot of growth today so I am gonna be breaking out the red tip for today, last few shaves have been been mild. Stirling "deep blue sea" shave soap Old spice hawkridge aftershave Yaqi 24 mm black marble handle tuxedo knot brush Gillette super speed red tip (59) Voskhod DE blade (2nd Use) and for a change of an EDT, brought out Versace Dylan Blue. Pleasant shower gel type of scent, nothing crazy but still quite nice.
Super nice colors with the light box Jim! Great NO setup and shiny shaving objects! Great comparison of the plates Dave, love the SV and Penholigan's. Don't know why, but I've always been intrigued by that brand.... Interesting comment Jim, I'm the same. You'll notice with the light box shadows are there, either diffused well, face inwards between your subjects or both. Perfect light is not always the most flattering for the subject, but it's common for product photography. FWIW, my light box....I only use the built in lights when doing videos, and then lights are covered with a diffuser. My garage is a work shop...large format printers and such, so it's very brightly lit, enough that the lights of the light box aren't needed most of the time, it's sides are that reflective.
DE Shave # 313 Rating: 5 / 5 Razor: Dollar Tree DE Blade: Super Max Platinum Brush: Ever Ready 200T Lather: Cella Crema da Barba Aftershave: PAA Chella Cool Additional Care: Barbero Alum Block Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera Wonderful morning, clear blue skies and warmer temperatures. A repeat shave that was just as good as yesterday’s. A three pass with the Dollar Tree DE delivered a smooth and comfortable shave. The razor itself is extremely light. It serves the purpose, however, I prefer a more modest weight razor such as the Muhle R42 or my Merkur 37c. Have a great day gentlemen.
I have not had a Schick shave in a very long time so today was the day. This is Schick head that I came across that had a rotten handle. I had a piece of 1/2 aluminum stock and fabricated a handle. I probably completed this a couple of years ago. The Rubberset 400.3 with the Omega knot whipped up some amazing Figaro this morning. Three passes with the Schick and smoothness abounds. Schicks are great shavers....I don't know why I don't reach for them more often. Finished the shave off with a little American Tobacco by Andy Hilfiger. Hope everyone has a great day!
The last time I spoke to him was in a 30DC Zoom chat about 5-6 months ago. @mrchick Happy Birthday, Brian!
Thanks Jeff! Scales are in the box....if I ever want to sell the DX, I can return it to normal in about 5 minutes. Super nice red tip shave and combination Myles! Very nice everything Danny! Fun special razor you made. Side note...our Big Lots in the area no longer carry any shaving gear, or at least the 2 closest. I checked one close by in early December, the daughters checked one about 25 minutes away. I had the AT and the other dupe on the Christmas list. The girls improvised and did a great job not using my list at all.
Thanks, Blair! I think shadows bring out the highlights. I don't know if it's very noticeable but in today's picture only the left side lights are on. It's subtle but the lighting does drop off on the right. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
Lovin’ the Cella combination Joe! That shave bowl....need more info . Haven’t crossed that design, looks interesting.
