  1. Great shave, Matt. Nice kit, but I’m not familiar with Kanion! Glad it worked for you! :)

    December 28th

    Klar Seifen SS
Wild West Brush Works - 2 band badger
    Supply Co V2 SE (•••)
    PAL Adjustable (L)
    Schick Blade for each
    Zingari Man ASB - Unscented
paco rabanne - 1 million EdT

Klar Siefen SS and the WWB badger did an awesome bowl lather. My 3rd use now, and to me it's very similar in most every aspect to the Beta 4.3 formula from SV. IOW, awesome lather, thick and slick, bursts into lather the moment you start loading with a damp brush. Both are vegetal based. SV has much more refined fragrances, Klar being 'basic' shaving fragrances (clean, Sandalwood, etc.) Although...the Klar Seifen comes in an even smaller tin. Um. No. It's going to get grated into an old PAA container now.

Comparison shave today of the PAL adjustable and Supply Co V2 SE, both set for the most aggressive shave. Both with an unused Schick blade. I can't get anything else loaded easily into the PAL with the injectors I have, they're either from Supply (and don't fit the PAL), or the B-20 from Schick, which can't easily be free loaded into the PAL like they can for the Supply.

Divided the face into two halves right down the middle. Left hand for the Supply, right hand for the PAL. I need to do an image of the head designs/handle lengths. The head design...practically identical is the short version for the way I had them set up to shave today. Handle on the PAL is over an inch longer though, and a much lighter razor. The PAL has little blade feel compared to the Supply Co V2, also a slightly narrower shaving 'sweet spot'. Pass 1, WTG, about the same growth removal for both razors/sides of the face, but still some sandpaper on the neck/jawline areas. Pass 2, XTG....out to in, about the same for removal, but I'm noticing that I like the shorter handle on the Supply, easier to control/maneuver, better for the lower neck. Pass 3, ATG....really only needed for the right neck/jawline contour, as everywhere else is easily BBS by now. With the PAL....takes buffing and/or focused thought to control the shaving angle and not get the dreaded irritation that I normally get for the ATG pass on that area. Very easy to get a scraping sensation there (and I did with the PAL). Small application of extra shaving soap there, go after it with the Supply....poof, no irritation, plenty of blade feel, nice and smooth.

I'll do another comparison shave in a few days with the Supply Co V2 on the 2 dot plate..it may be equal to the PAL on L with that setup.
The paco rabanne...A Christmas gift in a nice collectible tin setup from wifey. 2 sizes of the EdT, plus deodorant. It holds top spot for her of anything in the fragrance collection so far. :sexe:

Hope everyone has a Magnificent Monday!

  11. If you've sampled them be careful. I sampled the cologne and then purchased the concentrate as it is known to be stronger. I found the concentrate to be more floral and not the same and so got rid of it and acquired the cologne which is plenty strong enough and I love the scent. So just a heads up if you sample one make sure that's the one you purchase.

  14. Great report and setup, Blair!
Your WWB handle looks to be made from the same resin stock from which my Renaissance handle is made (I used it today). I really like the shape of yours. :happy088:

  15. I bought one several years ago to use on Skype video calls from the laptop (looks like the ones folks clip on their tie for TV News). It was about as useful as yours. :angry032:

  18. Monday's Shave

    Schick E2
    Schick Blade
    Wild West Brushworks 'Renaissance'
    Cella Shaving Soap
    T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Stirling Ramblin' Man Aftershave

It was another autopilot shave this morning with the Schick E2.
The Cella supplied a wonderfully slick and creamy lather.
Two easy passes provided a comfortable and efficient result with no irritation or mishaps.
